Wawayanda State Park 3rd and 4th grade trip

Officer Bauernfeind was requested by Cavalry Christian Academy to lead them in a Lost in the woods/ Bear Aware talk that also incorporated a three mile hike. Officer Bauernfeind and the third and fourth grade students arrived at Wawayanda around 10:00 am. After the picnic area was set up, Officer Bauernfeind Requested that Officer Potsel respond to the beach area to assist him in a school talk. While there Officer Potsel made many new friend as the kids checked out the New Jeep patrol vehicle. The lost in the wood and bear talk both lasted about 30 minutes each. When the talks were over Officer Bauernfeind lead the parents and kids on a three mile hike on Wing dam and Laurel Pond trail. While on the hike Officer Bauernfeind told the group about the history of Wawayanda. The kids and parents had a great time. Officer Bauernfeind was requested to conduct these hikes more often. The trip ended with a no holds barred water balloon fight at 2:00 doe to the extreme heat. The kids had a great time.
