Riverrside County Sheriff deserve this rating due to the remarkable job they are conducting even though they are currently under staffed and still keeping "scum baggs" off the streets.

Advice for prospective applicants:

Please do... It will not only benifet you but all of the residents in the area you work for. Do it cause you love it, not for the money! There is no point in preforming a job you hate, those are the cops people reffer to as "dicks!"

Compared to agencies across the United States our pay is excellent. Here in California our police department colleagues make more base pay but the benefit of a Sheriff's Department is the possibility for advancement. I can't speak for the pay re: Community Service Officers, etc., but for sworn staff it's pretty good. In six figures this year for me and many co-workers with some OT.

We are in a strong recruitment mode right now - now's the time to test!

Riverside County Sheriff is a great place to work for but, I was getting paid way more working at my previous job. and I was working in retail, and paying a hell of lot less for my benefits.You would think the county would step up its "game plan" for salary.

Pay is low for the area, but I love it here! It's like a big happy (occasionally dysfunctional) family :)
