About Me:
I like cats, dogs, (descented) skunks, ferrets and tribbles. I don't have any one specific favorite colour or car, although I will admit I am a Red Hatter and my MiniCooper is purple with a red roof. For stress relief, I like landscaping, scuba diving, roller blading, tandem sky diving (ask me why I go tandem), ceramics, hiking, painting birdhouses and watching butterflies and hummingbords. I am not a jewelry person. Never could get excited about a pair of diamond earrings, but will be forever amazed by the earthworms in my compost pile. I enjoy Sci-Fi channel on TV, but not gorey movies or movies with bugs in it. Which means I really like Andrew Zimmerman of Bizarre Foods.... I enjoy wearing jeans and tees, dresses, IndoAsian clothes and comfortable shoes. The glass can be either half full or half empty; I can see it either way and not have my world crash. I collect tea pots. I don't mind giving some one a hand up, but have problems with people expecting hand outs. I get along very well with the EMTs, Firemen, road Deputies, Highway Patrol, DOT officers, FWC, INS/ICE, USM and local police departments...no animosities here. My nieghborhood has problems with critters, so sometimes I will put a goal post in my front yard to keep the Dolphins off it. I have been a Detention Deputy for 20 years. (Burger King? Forget it! The customer IS NOT always right.) I have prior military (NAVY) service of 2 years active and 6 reservist as an Ocean Systems Technician. Although discharged honorably, I was a "career" E-3; I told a full bird captain he was full of $h!7...good thing I am a fast learner. No tellin' where that could've gone.... I enjoy teaching and am an instructor for our Corrections Academy. I am one of two Infection Control Officers for the department and a Florida Model Jail Standards Inspector. The inmate's nickname for me is "The Iron Maiden." Last, but not least, I Hero Worship my big brother, Lt. Kenneth Keane, Jersey City Police Department. I let him make Lt before I did because he can't take being "one-upped" by his sis.... I think I got most of it...any questions? Drop me a line....Mick
