About Me:: Being only the 7th female hired by my police department, in 1985 at the age of 21 I had no idea what I was in for. I worked 8 hour, swing shifts on Patrol for 13 years. During that time I was selected to work straight graveyards doing covert burglary patrol . I then volunteered for a power shift working 8pm-4am for two years. In 1998 I was promoted to Criminal Investigations working all types of cases the first year and then eventually specializing in Crimes Against Children. Nine years later the stress of those types of cases took their toll on me mentally and physically and I needed a change. An opportunity opened up for an SRO position at one of our Middle Schools. I interviewed with my department and then with three school principals and was choosen for the job. Seven housing projects feed into my school. I am in my second year as an SRO and it was the shot in the arm that my career needed. I absolutely love what I am doing. It's so nice to do some proactive work with young people. I am currently married with no human children of my own. We have a Yorkie named Lucy that we love just like a child. She is spoiled rotten. My husband is an I.T. Security Consultant and owns his own company. We live in northeast Tennessee....near the NASCAR Bristol Motor Speedway. I love to read, play games on POGO and surf the web. I enjoy going places and socializing with friends. I was the first female member of the Life Saving Crew, volunteering from 1986 through 1990. I'm looking forward to knocking out the last 7 years of my career at the PD and being the first female police officer to pull a full 30 year retirement.
