About Me:: Hi, as you can see I'm 60 yrs. old but refuse to act my age. I am a proud grandmother of 4mo old Cate, picture at left, no not the one in green! I have 3 adult sons, one in Munich, Germany with my granddaughter, one in Canadian Northwest Territories, they are both high level IT guys. Youngest in Windsor, ON. Canada, my home is a musician, his band just signed with an Indie Pop label from Edmonton. Alberta. I have had a career in business and also taught economics and clinical practice management to senior interns in university. I have had the opportunity to do a lot of public & motivational speaking which I enjoy, (well what woman doesn't like a captive audience?). I stopped working after taking care of my Mum for 2 yrs and she passed away, now I have been caring for my husband since then. He is 18 yrs younger and we have been married for 14 yrs., doggone it I thought he'd be taking care of me, I know I robbed the cradle but for the 12 yrs he wasn't ill it was exciting. Even now he is a caring, wonderful man and marriage vows do say in sickness and in health, of course my mother always told my dad "Divorce never, but murder is always an option!" LOL Seriously though I just commented on the legalization of marijuana and if you have ever had to watch a loved one in pain you will know my position is for it. I put my ex through 2 doctorates and my 3 sons through university, so now its my turn. I am studying Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security, even have highest honours, guess there are some brain cells left out of the aging process eh? I plan to go on for my B. Sc. after I graduate in Feb. "08 but don't know what I will do with this knowledge since I'm just a couple years over the age limit for active law enforcement duty. I am excited about attending our police dept. citizens academy which includes the shooting range, suiting up with the fire dept., the morgue (had that in gross anatomy) and a range of other great classes. There is a waiting list for this, I signed up last April and finally got in to classes in Sept. I have a lot of past and present skills?, computer is my favourite right now, have learned html, xhtml, css and have been creating web portfolios, I have an auction site on eBay and I am learning German, I speak French (a little rusty until I visit home) I was a corp. VP in the jewelery industry and also a private contractor for the Dept. of Defense, so I've done a fair bit, this is only a little. I have held several professional licenses too. My favourite past time is watching hockey, (this is the one time I "ain't no lady") my enthusiasm brings out some language I would never use otherwise. LOL Well thanks to all who have invited me to be friends and those who do in the future, I hope I can contribute to this site in a knowledgeable and informative manner.
