- About Me:
- I'm a 61 year old Vietnam vet (Marines) and former Chicago Police Officer. As soon as I left the Marines in 1967 I took the test for Patrolman and worked the mean streets of Chicago for eleven and a half years before I decided that I didn't want to spend another day dealing with all the negative input. I have an older brother who followed me into the job and he just retired a couple of years ago. My kid brother then came on the job and then my sister. He's a homicide cop and she's a tactical officer. So you can say that we're pretty much a police family. Oh, did I mention my mother worked as a civilian clerk for the department. She's the one who got the ball rolling. She raised five kids on her own in a tough town and turned out four police officers and three Marines. Thanks mom and may you rest in peace. That's it for now and remember, always wait for backup and always keep the suspects hands in plain view. (That's for you new guys out there):)

I'm glad you accepted, your wisdom and your experience can help us, help those who are in their careers....and your retirement may sometimes have you wish you could talk to someone...or help someone who understands the difficult transition retirement can be; especially if the retirement was not of their choice, but due to injury, your a true friend, if you need anything let me know, Michael
