Glenn,
I'm doing great....how's thing with you? I've been gainfully retired since 11/2001 after 27 years in the job.....I lost a few friends at the World Trade Center and decided it was time to go, especially with a 7 year old daughter at home. I don't regret retiring....it was the ride of my life in the best job anyone can ever experience. You can't explain to people what being a cop is all about. You just have to live it for yourself. The day I graduated the Police Academy my Dad, who worked in 46 Engine/FDNY, tapped his finger on my badge and asked me if I knew what it was. "Sure Dad....it's my badge"...."No son...it's the ticket to the greatest show on earth!!" Boy was he right.
Anyway, I've been working for a law firm in Philly for the past 3 years.....did some time working for the Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals before that. I always preferred the street and since I get to work at my leisure I spend about 3 hours per day dropping off mortgage foreclosure/sheriffs sales/eviction notices at homes & businesses.
The Camden County Emerald Society keeps me pretty busy and the Pipe Band
( www.ccespd.org ) has us running all the time. Practice is every Wednesday night and we usually have a band job once a week. Tonight we're playing the installation/awards dinner for the Bellmawr FD which means we won't get out of the hall until 2-3 o'clock. No Rumpleminz!!!! I haven't touched it since you and I got to know the girls at "The Pageant".
The band has grown to around 50 members and we're getting ready to release our 2nd CD next month. We have our annual "30 Days to St. Patrick's Day Party" at The Coastline Restaurant in Cherry Hill on Tuesday, February 19th (7-9pm $10.00 p/p) and then we're heading off to Macroom, Ireland to march their St. Patrick's Day Parade.
I hope all is weel with you and your family.
Take Care & Stay Safe,
Des
