About Me:
Before the dawn of the badge and before I bled blue, I was a security officer for four years. Not satisfied with the direction of my career, I got tired of security and ventured out. I wanted something more. I wanted the stability and the promise of an actual career. Even though I had wonderful benefits at the last security place I worked, there really wasn’t much room for me to grow as an individual in unarmed security.

The thought of being a police office always excited me in for some reason. I often flipped flopped on the direction of my career, which caused me to be set back in college. When the smoke cleared there were only two absolute choices of where I wanted to start a career in. Those choices were law enforcement and teaching.

Since I established connections with different law enforcement agencies when I was working in security I leaned towards law enforcement. After running like a lab rat, being critiqued in every aspect of my personal life, and being hooked up to many polygraph tests, by the same guy I might add, I was offered a position within the VCU Police Department.

As of right now I am in my second year of being a police officer. As with every place there is administration fuck ups, but hey I am doing something that I enjoy. Everyday I learn something new about my profession and of myself. Hopefully the knowledge and training I attain as being a police officer will make me a valuable commodity within my jurisdiction. I will continue to strive for excellence and aim high.
