About Me:: I am currently living in Apex NC and work as an Emergency Communication Officer for the Cary Police Department. I also work part time for Holly Springs PD. Before that I worked for Wake County Sheriffs Office also as a Telecommunicator. Guess I just can't get enough of it! I have been in this line of work now over 8 years and I guess you could say I'm addicted to the "adrenaline rush" and could never really see myself working a "normal" desk job. I signed up for this site months ago, but didn't keep up with it. I am going to try to be better about it now :-) I'm originally from upstate NY and moved here about 12 years ago. I spend most of my time outside when the weather allows. I love hiking with my three dogs (yes three) we usually walk about 45 minutes to an hour a day. I enjoy being any where near the water where I can swim, fish, boat, wake board or just take pictures of local wildlife. I love to watch football with friends and try to entertain every chance I get. In between jobs I make time for my family and friends, as they are so important to me. I have met so many people in this line of work through the years. I guess this is a good way for me to keep in touch. **************************************************************************** On September 5th 2003 I lost a friend of mine in law enforcement to a motor vehicle accident. I was his Telecommunicator and sent him to a call. I wrote this poem for him and my other officers at the Wake County Sheriffs Office back then...asking them to be kept safe. I thought I would post it for awhile to remember my friend...Frank James.************************************************** To our guardian in gray... O' Mighty God may you help protect my guardians in gray, Please swiftly send your Angels to keep them from harms way. Defending a code, an oath they made fighting evil lurking near, Walking a line of ocean blue protecting those held dear. I vow to watch them in the field these eyes they may never see, Only a voice heard in the night Their lives a gift to you and me. My Deputies stand in harms way their siren a beacon in the night, This band of brothers in black and gray their creed a dangerous plight. Their valor gives me hope inside and with solemn pride can say, I will with all my heart protect you On the radio everyday. These soliders zones a battlefield each call I give unknown, If on this day my family and friends, may never make it home. Dear Lord I know you need guardians to serve in your heavenly home, But Wake County needs these Angels, not another name in stone. ************************************ In memory of Deputy Sheriff William Franklin James II 10-42 September 5th, 2003
