NEW YORK CITY – New York Gov. David Paterson is scheduled to meet privately with the Rev. Al Sharpton and the family of fatal police shooting victim Sean Bell.

Paterson will meet with Sharpton and Bell’s relatives Thursday afternoon in New York City – a day after protests took place around the city.

The governor expressed surprise at last month’s acquittal of three New York Police Department officers in the November 2006 shooting of Bell.

Paterson says he was surprised because of the number of shots fired.

The officers fired 50 times at Bell and two of his friends as they sat in a car on the day Bell was to be married.

The only good thing about this article is seeing Sharpton in cuffs... The officers were found innocent and all he is doing is causing civil unrest and that is not going to solve anything for the dead suspect or his family.

Why is the Governor of NY meeting with recently arrested protestors in private, to speak about the acquittal of three NYPD Officers after a trial? The trial was public. The media distortions of the facts of the case were public. The all out effort to ruin the lives and careers of the Officers was public. Why would the Governor of New York not want his support of Sharpton and his belief that the verdict was wrong to be public too? The reason is that it will show how disconnected he is with the citizens of New York, and that he does not share the views of the vast majority of citizens that support the NYPD and believe in law and order. Quick translation- He doesn't want to lose the next election. What a coward!!!!!

I can't stand Gov. Paterson. There's no need for this meeting...it's over, it's done. The cops have been acquitted (rightfully so) and there's nothing you can do about it! Shut down the city?! Come on...So basically, you want to cause a disturbance, obstruct public ways and be plain old uncooperative...and not get arrested?! Great job NYPD, keep up the good work. Gov. Paterson, there are no words strong enough to convey my dissatisfaction in your governorship.

Why is anyone surprised that yet another corrupt liberal NY politician hates cops? Gov. David "Three Blind Mice" Paterson is no stranger to the "We hate cops" bandwagon. This is the same man who has brought up a piece of legislation several times over the course of his political career that would completely destroy law enforcement. In all his expertise and genious, Mr. Paterson attempted to pass a law requiring that all police officers first attempt to shoot armed suspects in the arms and legs prior to shooting center mass. Failure to do so would have subjected the offending officer to criminal charges, I believe manslaughter at a minimum or even murder. Goes to show you that law enforcement is slowly dying at the behest of imbeciles who "think they know better." Hats off to the media, idiot politicians such as Paterson and Bloomidiot the mayor, a moron for a NYC Commissioner and all uneducated imbeciles populating our country. Hmm...it seems all of them fall into that last category anyway. Stay safe.

It is sad that a person Like Al is still allowed to try to influence the media. His track record is so strong.
