Used to own one of these. Unfortunately they now cost a bit more then when I had one. However, I am planning on getting one. Going to get one of the Texas version ones. Excellent weapon and brand.

This is the weapon our department pick for our tactical team and for our patrol officers while on patrol because of it's smooth and accurate shooting.

The bushmaster is the lightweight version of the M-16A2 very accurat and easy to use. The militaryversion is fully auto (thisis the fun part) I used this at navel sub base Kings Bay as marine security forces. this is a GOOD weapon to have for close quarters combat as well as house clearing.

I used an early, Vietnam M-16, USAF version. They are dependable now, but the old ball powder had a tendency to carbon up on the gas port area. That has been improved now, in addition to a few more tweaks. I'm saving for the 16-inch barrel version, hopefully in the very near future.

bushmaster ar-15 has become a lifeline with some officers in our department. our only down fall is that they are kept in the trunk not to quick to grab if ur in a firefight still the weapon is great smooth , accurate and a great primary to use for special tactics

First and foremost, the design is proven and battle tested. The ergonomics of the gun allows for the novice too handle it with a limited amount of practice. The collapsible stock and shorter barrel allows for great close quarters work. The one I have works flawlessly.

I had one custom made from Bushmaster, great M-4. The company was very helpful and all the parts came in on time and never had any problems. Hats off to Bushmaster for taking care of LEO's...

I have two. When sugar turns to $*#% you can always count on an ar-15. It's just something about the sound of that bolt sliding foward that makes someone comply really fast!!!

Great patrol rifle at good price. The only issue we came across at our PD was that several of the rifles had gas tube screws not seated well. After some misfeeds, we found the problem and set the screws. They have been shooting great ever since. A real tack-driver.

Departmental issued weapon. I love it, very dependable firearm. Every agency should have a weapon like this or that compares to this for their officers.

Great weapon !!!! I never owned a long gun, because frankly we had to purchase them ourselves. The only weapon our dept. doesn't issue. Anyway, when I suddenly found myself out-gunned in downtown New Orleans following hurricaine Katrina with bad guys shooting assault rifles, they value of a rifle instantly became PRICELESS. Within a few weeks, every 3 out of 4 officers were packing AR-15s, so I got one. It shoots so smoothly, very light, no recoil, just a great rifle for first time users. I recomment 100 percent.

My personal choice of manufacturers (Bushmaster). I proudly own one and definitely would recommend that any fellow officers in a rural enviornment have an AR-15 at the ready for when the sh*t hits the fan.

I love this weapon! Although I have not had to use this weapon on duty, on the range, I have found this weapon to be accurate and reliable. Easily modified, there are a number of accessories on the market that you can use to personalize your weapon to suit your needs and likes. The rifle I carry on duty is my personal weapon, so it is my choice to carry the Bushmaster AR-15, and I wouldn't carry any other.
