| Description: | Motorola CDM 1550 128 Ch Analog radio |
Have used this for some time now. We operate in the VHF band, and use a 40 watt model. We have had several in service for many years, and had very few minor failures. User friendly menu options. Almost all, if not all, of Motolora's signalling options, Alpha display, ID and emergency decode, etc. Durable unit. I can't really think of an option that is not available that we could use. Very pleased overall and I'd reccommend it for public safety use.
nice system
It's been a very reliable radio for me. Rugged and easy to operate.
Been using this model for 7 years now.. Can't complain.. Good radio.
WE USE THIS IN DISPATCH AS A BACK UP RADIO WORKS GOOD SO FAR
I just bought this radio as a back-up for my patrol unit and have had no problems. The radio is very user-friendly and you can edit the scan list on your own.
Great radio series... my fire dept. runs the CDM 1250 (4 less buttons) and have not had any downtime because of the radios.... very powerfull and durable which is needed in a rual setting with firefighters :D
Great radio. It is so easy to program, and locate what channel you want to talk on due to the large LCD screen.
Another fine radio from Motorla. The version I had in my "Coroners" car was 100 Watts, and had to be programmed via the dealer / computer. This one is afr more superior. The 40 watt power is powerful enough especially if your department uses relay towers.
We use these in all our vehicles. Our Patrol vehicles have both a vhf and uhf model so that we can communicate with all surrounding towns/agencies. If there is a problem with one of them the department has a spare that can be swaped out in under five minutes. Very user friendly. We even have the option to to page the volunteer fire/first aid form the vehicles. Have one in dispacth for a back up unit.
