While not something I have bought for my personal use, our folks use this extensively. Perfect for SWAT and Special Units. Rugged and reliable, you get the jump on a suspect before they even know you are there. Best of all is it fits in your cargo pockets.
This sounds like a great product. this could be a great tool to have during still watches.
this product seem s really cool may be right for those nocturnal watches i still gag over the price though
nice
For that price I hope it apprehends the suspect for you as well.
my guys use this and the mx 1 as well. i just like thermal imagers to begin with. Great tool.
I noticed that most of you folks are concerned with the $7k price tag of this system. Trust me when I say that is a great price. As the 1st Marine Expoditionary Force (I-MEF) equipment & technology guru in Iraq, I can tell you the systems we were using usualy had a six figure price tag attached to them. Very few were just under the $100k mark, therefore $7k is a drop in the bucket compared to most others. Now I am aware of the budget diferences between my department (U.S. Government) and your local PD's and SO's, so don't flame me thnking your departments funds are a drop in the bucket compared to the one I had to work with. For the $7k price tag on this Thermal Imager, it would be a valuable asset and provide you with the upper hand in your survalance capabilities.
This is a good price the one I had looked at was $ 12,449.99. I did find one from Xenonics.com for 1,499.99 which doubles as a rifle scope with excellent digital bore sighting. Snipers ya got love it.
would be nice to have one....
This NV thermal imager is perfect for all applications - not too thrilled about the price but I didn't pay $7000 for it either. When I mounted this on a M-4, night firing was now all about fun especially when you couldn't even see the target with the naked eye!
I NEED THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have used this on duty and it is a great product. For all those non military out their heres a little lesson on support gear. NVG or Night Vision is a great tool when you only have star or moon light but the minute you look towards lights you will notice a large halo. These halos are so big that you are able to hide a tank inside of it. So when it comes down to an urban setting IR's get the job done. This model has great quality. The photo definition that you are able to view with the IR is so crisp that you can see the all features around you. Well with out color. I do notice the price tag but for this product it is worth it if you are willing to spend it. Yes it will pay off.
Big Bucks
I have a D300 Gen III night vision scope with long range IR and 3X lense to add when needed. Excellent tool if you want to see things in the night and recognize them too. It cost thousands but this little baby shows them up even in camouflage or light cover. So it is really the ultimate tool. Well worth $7 grand. Only drawback is good guys need to wear a twinkler.
