Another thing they fixed from the 07's to the 08's. I know those of you that drive an 07 or lower, when you put on the brakes and try to turn around, all the pressure is distributed to the brakes and the steering gets a little hard. They fixed this problem in the 08's. Steering is good at all times. everything else is basically like the 07's. A few new options.
I drive an '06 currently and I love it, beat the hell outta it on shift or at EVOC and it keeps on serving and protecting my crazy a$$! I still like the Dodge Charger, but I definitely have a spot for the CVPI!
IThe CV is getting a "little long in the tooth" as they say. Can't wait for someone to come up with a real police car. No doubt the charger is fun to drive, but it misses the mark as a true cop car. Maybe someday.
The most reliable police vehicle on the market. I am small compared to some officers and the charger, impala and vehicles of this kind make me feel like a sardine in a can, but the cvpi has plenty of room and with crown north america outfitting packages it can be rolled off the truck, put in a radio and your ready to roll, so to speak.
MINE DON'T HAVE CRUISE CONTROL, AND THAT SUCKS ! OTHERWISE I LIKE IT. I WOULD LOVE TO TRY OUT THE CHARGER. I 'VE BEEN HEARING IT IS AWESOME,
I wanna know how long is the warranty on the 2008 interceptor...what about the aftermarket on the 200 amp alternator?
The traction control works great !
I like my 08, but i wish ford would make it a litter larger for the driver. I am 6'5 and I have no room in this car.
I like my 08, it handles good and has a lot of power once you get past 80 but getting to 80 takes some time.
I was issued a 08 CVPI in September of 2007 and immediately noticed that the rear end was a little looser on wet roads than my previous CVPI was (2002). I could tell a difference in the power, but that could be because my turn-in had 162K on the odometer. The interior had been streamlined a little and had a deep charcoal color. The instrument panel has a tachometer, but I would much rather have more active gauges than dummy lights in place of it. My battery went completely dead after about four months of regular usage, but overall, it's a dependable workhorse of a ride.
Reliable vehicle which has sufficient interior room and trunk space. Enough speed to work efficiently.
Excellent vehicle a definate improvement over previuos years....
Piece of shit, wouldn't endanger the enviroment by running it off a cliff. Wouldn't waste good C-4 on it! Mine had a little over 2400 miles on it and the engine let go. Deputy in a county in my District had 5300 miles and the engine blew in it. If you ain't figured it out I'm not real fond of this hunk of shit. The reason I gave it one star???? Cause it made me give it something. How about minus 20 stars!
I am not a Ford guy by any means. However, the CVPI in my opinion is the best patrol car out there right now and will continue to be. The dodge charger may be faster, but the interior of the Vic is much more roomy as is the trunk. The 4.6Liter gets you up to speed quick enough and for being a larger sized car, they handle well. The charger is cool looking and has a hemi but it's not for me. Too each is own I guess you could say. As for the Impalas, they dont hold up well at all. Not suprising for a front wheel drive car. The transmissions dont last very long when driven hard, lots of other mechanical issues as well. Rumor has it the 2009 Vics (Available only to LE) will have the 5.4 Liter Triton engine. I love my 08 CVPI. I would give this vehicle a five star rating if it wasnt for the shitty gas mileage.
Got it brand new in April. My first new car. Usually inherited ragged out vics with over 150,000 miles on them. I wish I had a CD player in mine. Just came with the standard AM/FM radio.
Very good suspension. We have an 04' impala and the 08 interceptor is much better. The ONLY thing i do not like about the interceptor is that the response on the gas pedal is sluggish compared to the chevy. Otherwise, it is much more spacious and comfortable than our other car.
Rides nice, very room seats 4 to 5 in the back seat.
I have plastic back seats, but i can still get 4 - 6 people/perps back there.
I want mine back, My 05 Slopala ia a POS. I love the new wheels, more power and the available 3.55 year end for a little more off-the-line acceleration. I can't believe Ford is scratching these, I hope the fleet sales stick around a few more years, I'm due for a new car in 2 years, can't wait to turn in the Impala
