The Surefire G2 Nitrilon is a great backup light. It is very bright with a clear intense beam. It is also great to use during building clearing as the grip design stays in your hand very firmly and the momentary tailcap is perfect for this application. Bottom Line GREAT LIGHT!

I agree with all that it's a great little light...I also have two. However, neither give any kind of warning that the battery is going dead. One second it's shining brightly...The next second it's completely dead! This could cause a serious problem if it's the only light you have during a threatening/unknown threat situation.

Love it, but I wish it last a little bit longer and that it gave some warning before it dies, but still a great light, I’m going to look into the new LED version that just came out.

This is a fantastic compact tactical light. I usually carry it in the pocket of my vest. Very durable, grip design is comfortable. It is very easy to operate and the light beam is strong enought to temporarily disorient an opponent.

I switched to the G2 from the rechargeable Stinger. Great backup light, as long as you have fresh batteries. Surefire sells them cheaper than anyone else. It's lightweight and powerful. A must buy for the price.

Great flashlight for the price. Nice and bright, but the dead-man switch could feel a little less "cheap." I use it as a back up light in my car since I don't have to worry about it getting beat up or corroding.

I was very sceptical about a light that used "high dollar" batteries at such a fast rate, but after my wife bought it for me I would not trade it for anything else. It is very bright, light weight, and can be kept anyplace. I cant wait to try the "G3", I've heard some good things about it.

I have two of these and a Z6. There great. I have upgraded the bulb to the 120 lumens and there great When your out in the woods this is the light you want. I don't think Surefire makes a bad light. The G2 weren't bad but the older Z6 was costly and there the same thing just different body material.

You just can't go wrong with a Surefire in your pocket. Wide enough beam to quickly clear a room, powerful enough to illuminate a reflective sign 600 meters away, and more than bright enough to completely disorient and night-blind a suspect. Painfully bright to night-acclimated eyes. At 20 bucks (local price) I'd rate this one a MUST HAVE, in fact, planning to buy a couple more of them.

The G2 is one of the best small lights for the money. It works well for as small as the light is, and its a durable light that takes a lot of abuse. It fits well on the duty belt and is very light weight. You dont even know its there.

Great light for a spare. Sometimes has to fit in cases for thr Surfire 6P. Battery life is short as it is on the Surfire 6P. I got three for a great price when I was in the military from the PX and gave one to my parrents. They love it to walk the dog and find the lanyard handy for there use.

I got one for me and one for my little brother at a gunshow for $30 each. It's bright, compact, and seems durable. It has since replaced my Dorcy (see my other rating) I'd take it anywhere I need light, but my biggest beef with it is the batteries it uses, they're bloody expensive! Another thing is the screw on sustained lighting, I expected it to have a conventional clicky button in back, but it seems like it's more simple and therefore less prone to failure.

I recently switched to the LED version which is also great and lasts alot longer. Surefire has never let me down. Hands down best light I have ever owned.

I just bought one, and for such a tiny light (fits snugly in the palm of my hand) it is one bright little sucker. I just did a foot patrol with it last night and it was so bright that it clearly illuminated an alleyway between apartment buildings from more than 7 feet away. WOW!!!! That's all I can say, and they also make a neat little holster that holds it firmly on your duty belt (various widths up to 6.5 inches, I think) in either the upright or head-down position. I prefer upright because it just sits lower and keeps me from bumping into it constantly, but it snaps right into the holster and you can even turn it on in the holster to illuminate paperwork. It's a versatile little sucker, and the Surefire company also sells the batteries for keeping it running. The batteries are like $19.95 for 12, just FYI.

This is my backup backup light-- i keep it in my bag. Wear a Stinger on my belt as backup. Surefire builds a great product, and at a typical price of $34-35, u can't beat it. I also keep one on the headboard as a house light. I was going to mount one on my shotgun with the accessory curly cord tail switch, but the plastic light body is too thick to fit the mount-- get an aluminum 6P.

Great flashlight. Extremely bright and lasts for a while on (2) 123 batteries. The only problem is that there is no dying time. You will think you have a while left on the batteries when all of sudden your flash light just stops working. Which does suck when you are attempting to do SFST. However it is a great light to have on my belt for a backup when I need to get out of the car fast and forget my Mag in the car.

    Hi Operators and Officers,
I purchase this light by Surefire as a personal Defense component, to my amazement it was a asset to my Off Duty Protection. It is very Bright an give you that surprisingly blinding shock to give you the advantage momentary; it is very lightweight, so I don't even know I have it on. Combined with the Speed holster and Tactical rings it is unlimited to the Holding styles commonly used in the Forces. I will not buy another light that is substandard again! Remember you have only 1*or 2*!

Bright light, compact, and tough.... the downside, the light uses (2) 3 volt batteries, which last exaxtley 1 hour burn time. When they go dead, you don't get a dim light, you get light one time, and none the next. Not a bad back-up light, but I wouldn't recommend using it everyday....it would get expensive buying batteries that you can't re-charge
