If anyone is a gun nut like me, you'll like this weapon. I carried a Glock 22 as my duty weapon for about a year and loved it. I'm even a certified Glock armorer. The Springfield XD-40, in my opinion, has all of the benefits of a Glock and none of the short comings. If you haven't fired it, I urge you to at least try it.

Owning both the 4" Service and the 3" Sub Compact models, having fed them with all sorts of ammo, and having fired the weapons extensively, I would depend my life on these. The magazines are interchangeable between the guns. The accuracy is very good out of the box. Fit and finish are typical of Springfield. The gun "points" well. I particularly enjoy the added protection of a grip "safety", and have no hesitation positively engaging the weapon into my Blackhawk CQC SERPA holster when reholstering. These guns have never failed on me after hundreds of rounds through them. The sub compact is amazingly accurate for a polymer gun.

Very slick shooting piece with some nice features, such as a loaded chamber indicator. The weapon functioned reliably out of the box and the accuracy was good. I carry the 3" version off-duty and it is very easy to conceal. The extended mag has 12 rounds set on go, which is very comforing. Fit and finish is top notch. Overall, a very good weapon for the investment.

I shoot the 3" sub-compact model and have put coutnless rounds through it. It shoots as good if not better than the Glock I shot before. I have smaller hands and have found the grip to be slimmer in width and a better fit for my petite hands. For anyone who hasn't used the XD, by far I love the ambidextrious magazine release and the no-tool disassembly making cleaning it easy. Others have stated and I agree that I love the loaded chamber indicator and the rear grip safety that makes it hard for accidental discharge if I happen to be overtaken.

While I'm no Springfield sales person, when I'm at the indoor range and there's other girls looking at the Glock 27's (.40 cal) or similar models, I always suggest that they try this gun before they buy the Glock.

I love this gun. I have the 4" model and do not have a single complaint.

I like this gun. It's very comfortable, just not a perfect fit for my hand. To each his own.

I purchased this firearm from a co worker of mines. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. It very accurate and compact enough to carry off duty. I have not purchased any another firearm since I purchased this one.

Love it. After years of shooting the Beretta 92F, I handled this gun and it just fell into place. Absolutely a great weapon. I have the 4inch model and love it. I fired a Glock also along with it and this is hands down better.
