Being a former avid boot wearer, I don't think these are the lightest boots on the market for females. They are a little too heavy for small framed individuals.

Rugged boot. I have an old pair that has lasted 5 years. Sole is slick and the "black" leather has turned gray. I use them around the house now. Will get a pair in August.

An excellent boot, the Danner is well made and will last forever. This boot will seem a bit heavy if you are used to tennis shoe style boots as it has a real sole. The nice part about that is that you can have this boot resoled for a fraction of the cost of a new boot...I know an Oklahoma State Trooper who is on his 4th set of soles, and the leather/cordura uppers just keep on going and going.

Danner makes this boot with several insulation ratings, so be aware of what you are buying and the climate that you are working in. The upper has Gore-Tex protection, keeping your feet dry even when the rain floods over the curb.

Don't let the price scare you off...these boots will outlast many other manufacturers. Make the investment and these boots will last you a long, long time.

This boot does have a lug sole, so it will track in alot more mud compared to modern tennis shoe style work boots. For a lighter, more sneaker-style boot try the Danner Stryker GTX.

I too am wearing a pair right now. I will accept and wear nothing less. I first became acquainted with this boot in the U.S. Army Light Infantry; it was tried and true then and is today. From 1986 until today and tomorrow, if I am on duty I am wearing this boot. The unit cost is a little high, but it will be some of the best money you ever spent. My first pair lasted almost ten years and the next lasted five. In the last 6-7 years I have only been able to get them to last 2-3 years, They are still well worth the money. I blame factory shortcutting of cheaper materials for the shorter wear, again, I still find it a bargain. I have very bad ankles from having broken each one at least 4 times, a couple of times I broke both at the same time jumping from planes. I have never had a second’s trouble with support in this boot.

Personally, I think these boots are the best. They are sturdy, durable, and they look sharp and professional..You may not be able to run a marathon in them, but some of these "tennis shoe/combat" boots just look "frumpy" and 2nd rate...

Best pair of boots I've ever worn for cold and wet weather... but terrible for standing a post for hours at a time. The sole wore out and Danner replaced them. Had the boots back in a week!!!

I've got a pair of boots identical to these, but they're not Danner. The Sole says "Vibram" and the outer heel say "Belleville." They're Gore-Tex lined and they go good with wool socks in them. Out my way we've had a few small snow storms and these boots cling to what my "New Balance" Hikers can't. Oh, I got mine for $50.

The boots are little on the heavy side but once you are used to it it doesn't matter. The leather last for ever as long as you take care of it and keep it polished. The soles wear down, eventually. All you have to do then is have them resoled. I will never go back to the other boots I used to wear.

This is by far the BEST boot ever. I have had mine for about 6 years. I have had to have them resoled once. These boots were made to last. They are a little pricey but well worth the money in the long run. This will be the LAST boot youll ever buy.

I am wearing one of my two pair right now. I only have two pair so I have one to wear while my others are resoled. I have had one pair for over ten years, they have been resoled $40-60 depending on who does it, times including 1 trip back to Danner for a resole, restich on a lower seam and refinish $90-100, well worth it. The other is 8 years old with 3 resoles. They are all I wear for patrol/SWAT or outdoors in winter. They last and are broken in...no need to break in new boots every year or year and a half like a "Rocky's Boot". They may not be as light as a feather but they are as comfy as a slipper!!!!

I have had my Danner Arcadia 200 grams insulated since Monday, May 12. I believe the women's sizes run a 1/2 size too big, but have thrown in extra insoles and thicker socks. These boots are comfortable and take shine really, really good. I barely had time to throw a coat of Kiwi on them before wearing them the same night after I got them and I passed inspection, not knowing we were getting inspected! I got mine for $219.00 at Firestore.online. Uninsulated run at $209.00. Cheapest I found them. Will report further the longer I wear them.

These are the finest boots I have ever worn. while they are an investment at over $200 dollars a pair they are well woth every penny. i have seldom been able to get a apir of boots to last more than a year. however I have been wearing these for 3 years and have been very satisfied. After hurricane Charli when we were working 12 hr shifts 6 days a week and I could never get my boots fully dried out I ordered my first pair. since then i havent had wet feet on duty. They had a zero break in period comfortable from day one and never a blister.I am planing to keep these boots and sent them back to Danner to be reconditioned for about $150 they will completly resoul the boot rework the leather replace the gortex lining and the courdura lining and fix any damaged or missing hardware. I figure with 2 pairs I shouldnt have to buy another boot for at least 6 years maybe more. my only regret is I never purchased a pair when I was an Army MP.
