This is an excellent product. It's very light, fits on a duty belt without the bulk of a traditional baton. Many times, an officer can control a situation by just expanding the baton, without ever making contact with a sunject. Voluntary compliance seems to take effect when the ASP comes out.

It's ok. Too light to really put a suspect down unless you have a perfect hit. Heavier on the otherhand is yet something else to wear.

I used to carry the regular asp. I was recently issued a featherlight by my department. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Half the weight and just as effective. Very inpressed.

This size ASP is helpful on and off duty and a great tatcical weapon against a knife weilding suspect. Just remember, strike the hand, not the knife. I'd like to know if anyone out there has carried the smaller expandable ASP on their keychain? I had one that was perfect until a Washington,DC security guard, took it from me and threw it down a non retrievable bin, before I could show him my credientials. I suppose they thought I was going to hold up one of the national museums with it. Talk about a group who needs training.
