Tough, dependable tool.
All ASP products are made to last. I used a ASP once to fight off a young punk and they work better than you think they would. The drugs he was on had nothing on the ASP to the thigh. He took a couple of good shots then went to the floor. These are a must have for all officers to have.
They work great when you need to do some damage control. A deputy in my department bent his hitting a guy that was high on pcp and crack. The guy went for his weapon and the fight was on. Needless to say the guy ended up being admitted to the hospital in the critical care unit.
Great tool in my arsnel; it gives me the reach and the power I need to take care those individuals looking to make the team!
it is light weight and easy to carry. fits well on duty gear aned is easy to use.
Dependable blunt force trauma weapon. This little guy has tipped the fight in my favor a few times. Just the extension of the telescoping baton makes the perps stop and rethink their position in the fight.
I have bent several other batons but my asp works the same or better than when I first bought it.
This is a great tool for both offensive and deffensive purposes , proper training and use provides positive results, I never go on a call with out it.
Not 1 of my favorets, but very efectic. It's got the "Oh crap" appeal as soon as you bring it into play.Gives you a bit of space between you & the assalent
I've only had to use it twice. Just drawing it works like a charm. Once a guy dropped a knife when I drew it, and the other time an estranged husband left the scene just from it being drawn.
When I first switched to the ASP I was leary...I was trained on the PR-24 and really loved it, it saved my tail a couple of time's....after 8 years of rollin with the ASP I would not go back...the psychological aspect of it when its being deployed is awesome...and it handles business, I am on my second one.....LOVE IT
I don't know if my rating if fair, but it's the only asp I've ever had, so it's not like I'm comparing it to something else. I've only deployed it one, and that was enough. I didn't have to use it... (I would have liked to though). Anyway, I have OC & Asp on belt, and taser on drop holster. Now that I have the taser, I don't see the Asp coming out... but I'll keep it - just in case.
Been carrying the 21" for years I just upraded to the 26". I like it it just the same. Both are easy to carry and the swivel holster is great.
Awesome product. Can be used in a varitey of ways. Make sure of certification requirements....
IT is light and accurate
I really like the Asp, but I prefer the 21"
When you absolutely have to break every window in a car, accept no substitute. This baton is very lightweight, and easily expanded. I have used it to gain entry to wrecked vehicles, to remove victims, as well as create space for hand to hand combat. Great stick!
I was glad to go to this, after carrying a "LAPD" stick for many years.
I think ASP is the best to carry.... Had to get me new one though... I bent my old one trying to kill a snake for some old lady....
Works Great...
Still haven't used it, but it's a nice compact tool to have on your belt.
Great tool to have as a less lethal in your force options. If the subject sees you unholster and employ this weapon, it has almost the same impact (visually) as the racking of a shotgun. I know there are those who may disagree, but the person about to get hit with it always thinks twice.
Great exandable baton.
I got the chrome finish works great I just wish they would make a good baton holder for your duty belt.
A great tool. When I've needed it it deploys on an instant, and that's usually all it takes. I won't take it off my belt just because its' uses are few and far between.
Never had a problem with it since I got it back in the day. It is a great tool for officers and its got my vote every time!
Spring broke, but that's about it, have had it for +2 years now.
I owned an expandable asp, however it bent severely after a few whacks against the pavement. That's not the type of equipment I'd depend on. My straight baton is much more versatile, and a better deterrent. You would need multiple swings with an asp, whereas a straight baton requires few. The asp is high maintenance, the straight baton is not. The asp is overly priced and is prone to closing at the wrong time. The straight baton has neither of these problems. The only advantage i give the asp is that it is incredible easy to carry all day. When all is said and done, this is an inferior product, and WAYYYYYY overpriced.
