A carry pistol that stays home because it is too big and heavy to actually carry is no good, and an underpowered pistol that does get carried is not much better. A Kimber Ultra Carry is the pistol you need if you are serious about concealed carry and self defense. Kimber is the world leader in 1911 quality, and nowhere is this quality more evident or important than in a carry pistol. Kimber Ultra Carry pistols weigh just 25 ounces. Their short 3-inch barrels, compact grips and flat 1911 profiles make them easy to carry and conceal. At the same time, their 7-round magazines pack more power than just about any caliber of revolver. Dependability is everything in a carry pistol. Each Kimber Ultra Carry has a lowered and flared ejection port with an extra bevel at the front to clear ejecting brass. The match grade bushingless bull barrel is fitted directly to the slide, and a double-wound recoil spring system makes proper operation possible even for a novice. With separate thumb and grip safeties the 1911 design is known for its integrity, and the Kimber Series II™ Firing Pin Safety makes the Ultra Carry even more secure without impeding performance or altering trigger pull. Additionally, the Loaded Chamber Indicator Port™ permits a quick visual check of the chamber. "Dependability is everything in a carry pistol." All Ultra Carry pistols have a carefully machined 7075-T7 aluminum frame. Made on the same state-of-the-art machines and to the same tight tolerances as Kimber steel and stainless steel frames, they are incredibly strong. As proof, Kimber aluminum frames have been tested to over 20,000 rounds with no evidence of meaningful wear. Slides are either steel or stainless steel, depending on model. The Ultra Carry II™ .45 ACP features a matte black finish and fixed low profile sights. Another version is available with fixed three dot (green) night sights. The Stainless Ultra Carry II™ features a satin-finished stainless steel slide and is available in either .45 ACP or .40. As with the Ultra Carry II, a model with night sights is also offered. I love this pistol! It's a great .45 for someone with smaller hands. It's a beautiful gun that is amazingly well made. I carry it off duty and as a backup, and I've never had a problem concealing it.

This is a great off duty weapon! I have fired it numerous times and never had a jam. Also it is so easy to hide when you are off duty.

This is the best concealable 1911 derivative I've carried iand fired n the 48 years I've been packing one. It feeds everything without a hiccup. Accuracy is such it shoots better than most can hold. Stainless finish is beautiful. Weight is 25 OZ empty.

Magazine gives you seven + 1 just like a full size. Load it up with Federal's new 200Gr
Expanding Full Metal jacket (EFMJ) and you're good to go. This piece hides under a Hawiian Shirt so well, I almost feel like Sonny Crockett. Get the nightsights with the really bright front sight. This is my favorite of all my 1911s and I have a few, trust me. It's worth the money and if you hunt around, you can find them in the low 700.00 range. More than worth it. afer all, what is your life worth and isn't it worthy of the best (in concealable 1911s, that is)

One of those great manufacuters of guns. Kimbers main sales office for the US is out of Kalispell, and just a mile down the road. Good to have such a great company locally.

My wife owns this gun and she loves it it is a high powered weapon for when I'm at work since i work overnights and I shot the thing and wow is all i can say it is not the kind of weapon a man with large hands should carry or own unless his wife has small hands

Awesome little gun. if you like a M1911 in .45 and you want it small & light, you cannot get much better than this. more accurate than many other maker's full size (5") 1911's, and not too much recoil for it's low size & weight, shoots much better than any all steel small to medium size frame .357 revolver. it's surprizingly reliable too, haven't had a jam or misfire with any of them I've shot.
