Right out of the box, dead on at 50 yrds. tactical rail comes with it, for all of my toys. fold down sights.
at first sight
functions well, very accurate ,lite weight. a little pricey
great shooter, but very expensive
Just attended a Patrol Rifle School in Oklahoma for 3 days in April. There was a plethora of different makes of M4's, including five M & P's. FOUR of these had issues with failure to feed, extract, etc. Four out of Five failure to function correctly is not good. I borrowed one of these because it was having a "magazine" issue, Took a 30 rd mag that had worked flawlessley (sp?) in my RRA & put it in the M & P. First, it wouldn't lock into place without taking out about three rounds. Then it locked in place, but I had to literally pull back with all my might to get the bolt to the rear to jack a round in the chamber. Then, when I tried to extract it with the T handle, it was again tough to do. One of my fellow officers bought one about three months ago & he also had an issue with it & had to have it shipped back to the factory. These were all brand new rifles. Don't put your life on the line with this one- I believe there's a design flaw of spacing between the magazine & the bottom of the bolt carrier group. I would rate it a ZERO if I could.
I think that this carbine is better then the Colt M4 that i carried in Afghanistan. If only it came with the full auto or three round burst capability
I have owned my 15t for alittle over a year. I initially had failures to feed as well. I checked everything I could think of. For me, it was the ammo. My Smith didn't like the the Hornady 75gr. training ammo. No matter what type of magazine I used with this ammo, it was a no go. The Hornady 62gr and 60gr functioned without a flaw as did various brands of 55gr. The weapon is deadly accurate. After changing ammo, I had no failures to feed. Love the fold down sights. Switching my EOtech 552 for a Trijicon RX30-23. Better sight and slightly less expensive. After breaking in the trigger pull the weapon is very smooth. My dept is going with the 15t for our tactical unit. I have no regrets about buying this weapon.
