It is an outstanding weapon. Accurate, never jams, easy to maintain. This was the last sidearm I was issued as a LEO and I was even presented with a sub-nose Mod 64 upon retirement. It may only hold 6 rounds but that should be enough to take down 6 suspects providing you don't just spray round all over. The .38 is rather underpowered though. I repute the $25 used price though. If you know where I can buy them for $25 please tell me as I will buy as many as I can get my hands on at that price! Resale is usually in the mid $100 at least for a junk piece and more likely around $200.

This is OUR issue firearm. Until about 3 years ago, we only had the wooden grips. They have to cannibalise the firearms as there are no spare parts left. Our govt gave our Dept $10,000,000 to acquire autos, that was 2 years ago. =(

This was our departments duty weapon back in the early 80's. As Rangemaster, it was an easy task to teach a novice how to shoot effectively with this gun.
I actually used this weapon with a 3" barrel to get my RangeMaster certificates
I recently got to fire my old personal 3" barrel 64, and I was amazed at how light it was....CRS disease is setting in....
