batteries die too often.. slim profile is good for when shooting long guns, using an isosceles shooting platform, prone, prety much everything. Shorts u a few decebs of course cuz they are thinner- but thats to be expected. Just keep fresh batteries in ur bag or else u have super expensive slim ear protection that ull never use.... like me. One cool thing.. although i am sure my shooting instructor would kick my ass for saying.. it has a stereo port that u can jack in audio from ur ipod and zen out on the range. very cool
