Excellent resource for investigations involving death. The checklists are extremely valuable, not that they apply to ALL situations ALL the time, but to help an investigator from overlooking some valuable information. It's coherent and cohesive format make note taking and (inevitably) report writing.

Once again Geberth has produced a masterpiece for the working Homicide Detective of Death Investigator. His checklists help you to keep focused on what must be done at death scenes and what to look for, in detail. If you are a Homicide Detective, or are involved in death investigations at any level, this book belongs in your library.

How can you go wrong with a checklist? As long as you use them, you can't! You typically only get one shot at a scene, and with these checklists that's all you need...

Excellent book for both the new and seasoned investigator. The author (Ret) Lt. Commander NYPD Vernon J. Geberth is also a dynamic speaker with an excellent presentation on serial killers.

This is more of a tool than a read book..... Buy this book, read it, let everyone in the unit read it, and throw a copy or 2 in the office so everyone can use.... helpful for new and old....
