I have used these on M249s and M4s. They work ok for what we use them for. The only draw back to it is the size. If your using it on ar series weapon then it is almost as long as the magazine is.
Still is great for a designated marksmen though.

I like having a forward vertical grip on my m-4. It keeps the forward hand at a more natural position and provides a more positive hold on the weapon. With this particular unit you get that and a bipod. For those of us who spend extended periods of time at the range it is definitely useful. The only drawback that i've had with the units like this that I've handled is that the retention screw doesn't provide enought grip on the rail of the weapon when tightened by hand, and if tightened with pliers or wrenches is impossible to remove without them. But all in all it's a good accessory to have.

i found this grip to work great for what it is designed to do. In my opinion it is primarily a forward verticle grip. It was great when going prone at two hundred plus meters. getting the gun down low in low cover areas, very steady. a good piece of kit.

They are a little pricey, and sometimes will get stuck if sand or dirt gets up inside of it, but they give you a steadier platform than your arm, and if you set your weapon down you can keep your barrel out of the dirt.

Ive used these overseas and back home, they work great easy to mount and move, for quick adjustments. My only draw back is the hinge that the legs and springs pivot on is not that durable, and break easy if mishandled in the field, I know first hand, and at $150 a piece they are not cheap replacements, but over all great weapon addition.
