After having 3 of these shatter like cheap plastic I don't think it's safe for any officer to carry these. During weapons retention training for off duty officers I saw 3 of these shatter like cheap toys with a red gun inside them. The rivets are too strong for the kydex shells and thats a major weak point.

I have this holster and it is horrible. It started coming apart withing a month of getting it. It also has very little to no retention. I will never get a Fobus again because of this holster. I think they are poorly made. You get what you pay for.

I have used the same Fobus holster since 2000 with no problems.

I like my Fobus gear. As said before, you get what you pay for. It's lightweight and easy on and almost easy off. I have never had trouble with retention. My Rugers fit and stay just fine. The shattering holsters were probably kept in a car. I have found that the Fobus does not like the heat. They warp, melt and weaken molecularly. I have had a few destroyed by leaving them in my car, live and learn, I don't leave them in my car as a rule now and when I do, they are empty. The companion mag holder I had had to be replaced because I left It loaded in the car and from the heat, It warped and would no longer retain my magazines. I would not recommend it as duty gear, although, I sometimes do use as duty gear depending on the duty, but as an off duty carry, or in my case more than not, working on the car at 2 in the morning in a bad neighborhood carry, It's perfect for me. You just have to know it's limits, and take care not to expose it to extreme heat. I have noticed that after a while the paddle will weaken, however, with the belt clips, I haven't had any trouble with that, but if it gets to weak, toss it, get another. They are well priced and cheap enough to dispose of if bad. However, Fobus did replace my mag holder, so the company does stand behind their goods. Stay Safe

This is a great holster. I used when I worked in plainclothes. I did not have any issues with it shattering or breaking.

I have the Fobus holster for a Glock 36. I own both the right handed paddle style and the ankle holster style. I was pleased with each holster after my initial purchase, but I need to point out a serious safety flaw that I discovered after extended use of the ankle holster.

I should say that my use of the Fobus paddle is not frequent. I've owned it for approx. two years and only used it sparingly for the first year (typically, I carry concealed and use either a shoulder rig or a clothing-based carry system made by UnderCoverComfort and/or the new one by 5.11 Tactical). The paddle holster still grips my Glock 36 securely, though I have not subjected it to any rigorous weapon retention drills.

HOWEVER, I used my Fobus ankle holster extensively for approx. one year. Over roughly one year, the holster was worn 8 to 12 hours per day, 6 to 7 days per week. During that time, I had foot chases, jumping fences, etc., without incident. The holster was not submitted to extreme weather (climate here can be around 95 degrees in summer, 0 degrees in winter... but no freezing the thing solid or storing it in my truck in the sunlight of summer, etc.). One day, during a regular duty shift, on a 70 - 75 degree day, I was VERY slowly pushing a disabled vehicle from a roadway into an apt. complex parking lot... and my Glock simply jumped out of the holster and slid out across the pavement, in front of a line of traffic I'd stopped in order to move the vehicle. I didn't even feel it become dislodged. I quickly scooped it up and securely (I thought) returned it to the Fobus. I then finished pushing the car into the parking lot (extremely mindful of my ankle gun at this point). On my last step with the car, my Glock again came free from the Fobus, falling out on the ground.

I returned to my cruiser, removed my Fobus, and examined it, to find the rivets were still in place, and there were no cracks in the plastic, but the holster overall had simply lost its "grip" on my Glock. That "snap feeling" into the holster was virtually gone. It had been there when I suited up at the beginning of my day... but now it was gone.

Immediately after this experience, I purchased a Galco Ankle Glove with a Calf Strap. It secures the Glock with a nice thumb break retention strap, and I have had no issues with it, aside from what I would consider to be expected slight loosening of the elastic band around the ankle.

Based on the above experience, I personally do not intend to invest in another Fobus. I use the paddle holster only on the rarest occassion, but usually avoid it. The ankle holster was immediately trashed. The risk of a similar incident in the future is one I'm not willing to take.

This is the best holster for off duty or undercover because it is a good fit and ur sidearm is secure tight enbought that you need to pull hard and if a perp should try to grab your sidearm you are going to kno it so agian very very good holster

I think the only thing this product got going for it is the looks.

I have heard of this holster breaking....but in 8 years have never seen it. I have had mine for 7 1/2 and have abused it quite a bit, even rolling around on the ground with it. ( Defensive Handgun 2, Thunder Ranch) It is durable and has held its retention capabilities well!!!! A Good Product!

This product is cheap and does not hold up not to mention the damage of your weapon would not wish the product on anyone.

I have used this product for a while now, and am very happy. It is easy to slip on and get moving. It's great for an on the go type person.

I have one and never use it. It was a gift. I dont think they are durable.

Just be very careful when using this holster and you have added the extended magazine release button on your GLOCK handgun. It’s nothing like having to put your handgun in battery and the magazine falls out on the ground in front of you and the perpetrator. With the holster I own, it appears that the handgun’s snug fit in the holster, may inadvertently release the magazine from the handgun if sitting in my car or at my desk without my knowledge.

It works great for me as an off duty carry holster.

CHEAP! Cheap holster. Would never own nor carry one. I am shocked they are still around. Would have thought them to have become a product of Uncle Mike's. Now, lets talk about the Blackhawk holster, thats a holster.

Fobus is OUTSTANDING~!! That is why so many others have tried to copy them. Think about it, if fobus was not so damn good why would they want to be like them??

I have this and it works well for now, but It has lost enough of it's retention to not recommend it for anything other than recreational use.

can any one give me a comparrison on this holster compared to uncle mike's style paddle holster.. I looked at one yesterday ,which I am thinking of buying, It looks identical to this one..

Not bad if you do not mind tightening the screws every three hours to keep the weapon in place. Theres a reason they cost less than 20 dollars. You get what you pay for with this.

I was wearing one of these when I went down on my motorcycle it protected my gun plus my right side,its scratched up but still works perfect try that with a leather or canvas holster!!!!!

It is a perfectly adequate holster for ease of donning and for light training environments. Although a good pancake style leather holster is much better for concealment and security of the weapon.

Great price, and it holds my H&K USP 45. in tight. This little sucker does not come out of your pants w/o a fight either.

I have one for my 92FS and it wears great and hold my weapon well. I use this for light duty, but I would not trust it with a heavy work load.

I have used this holster for my Glock 27 for 6 years now. It is not my only off-duty holster, but it has had its share of use. I have never had a problem with it and like it very much. However, I do not care for the lack of a tension adjustment like my Uncle Mike's paddle holster has. Also, it has never been subjected to extreme heat or cold, so I couldn't vouch for it's ability to stand up to those.

Wouldn't recommend this holster for duty wear, but it's handy enough for around the house or at the range. Decent retention and easy draw, and the paddle works with or without a belt. I've got a couple of them.

Good off-duty hoslter. I recommend it if you don't want ot spend a ton of money. I wouldn't wear it exposed though. A little too easy to steal if your a perp.

I agree about the low cost. Not the most comfortable to wear but efficient and does the job.

JUNK. I had one for a while and it is light weight, etc... but do some research on it or test it yourself. Anyone carrying this for duty work or even off duty SERIOUSLY needs to reconsider. This holster will come apart at the first sign of trouble. There's video floating around where a department did a stress test on it and it doesn't take more than a few pounds of pressure (such as being grabbed in a fight) for the holster to break off the paddle. These things are dangerous to wear on duty. Also, if under stress you twist the gun a little on the draw, it won't come out and you have to redraw. If you want a light, fast, very secure holster that rides close to the body try the Blackhawk Serpa. Can't be beat for a plain clothes holster.

very comfortable..been using one for several years now..only down side is a wear on finish of weapon after a lot of use..but they all do that to some extent i guess

I have this holster for my Glock 17. While the lightweight of this holster is a plus it shatters easily. I went through two of these before just settling for a Bianchi thumb-break paddle holster

overall not a bad product. i personally havent had a problem with the shattering holster but then again i only use mine at the range. holds my pistol securely and confortably while moving around.

Not safe, perp can come up behind you and push down on the gun, breaking the holster, and getting your gun. There is a video out on this.

This product is OK. However, I would suggest looking into other holsters. I personally own so many different holsters, that sometimes it is hard to keep track. I don't use my Fobus anymore though.

I have two of them and I can't complaint at all. I've carrying one for more than 4 years, ran, jumped, fought, and I never had a problem. They are reliable, affordable and you can't even feel it on plain clothes. I love it!!!

I've seen two break at my PD. Pieces of crap in my opinion.

I've had one for a while for both my Glock 22 and Glock 27. No problems with retention and easy off and on.

Good holster. Comfortable, but very little retention. If you wear this holster, be prepared to fight for your gun if necessary.

Comfortable holster. I've used mine for years (concealed carry) I only use it now during training. I have seen too many stories of the holster being broken by a bad guy. Lotsa videos out there to confirm this.

I finally broke down and bought one of these. I have always heard they were really good and well made. I have not been disapointed. Very positive pinch retention system that is safe, easy to use, and works as advertised. I like the fact that I can safely keep my sidearm locked and loaded and inside this holster without any issues. I can grab and go and it conceals easily. I have a very similar one that Glock makes and it just doesn't have the quality or retention that this does. Our Jewish brothers know the craft and it shows in this product.

excellant product, can take awhile get used to conformity on paddleback on hip, but great product pack 22 off-duty in it and enjoy using it.

Cheap and dependable but with a lot of us it will eventually begin to rub the finish from your gun.

Great holster for plain clothes work. Inexpensive. Holds weapon very secure, yet easy to draw from.

This holster is ok for a concealed holster, but it tends to have problems. When drawing your weapon, if the draw is not a sharp tug. The holster either comes out of your belt line or the weapon fails to draw. The Blackhawk holster is a much better system.

I bought one for my Glock 22 about a year ago and I never had a problem with retention the only problem it developed was the rivets started separating so about a month ago I purchased a Bianchi Carrylock Holster from www.quniforms.com and it's worth the $64.99 I paid. This Bianchi Holster is the best I've owned so far for concealed carry.....

An excellent plains clothed holster, but like all gear (plastic, nylon or leather) it has to be replaced from time to time due to wear.

Great lightweight holster. I use off duty along with the cuff and spare magazine Fobus. Recently bought the evolution series Fobus and love it even more!

I love the idea behind the paddle holsters. Always easy to find the holster when placing weapon back inside. The only downside I have found is that it holds the weapon a little too tight. That's good at times but I have had the entire holster come out of my pants when drawing the weapon.

I think everyone in law enforcement has owned a fobus holster at one point or another. My first off duty holster was a fobus for a glock .40 caliber. Its a nice holster for the price. Very practical, and comfortable. Just don't expect a lot of security / retention. But thats not the purpose of this holster anyway. Good product.
