| Description: | The M249 has been a mainstay in the U.S. military since 1986 and is currently serving in over 30 countries around the world. Why? Because it works. In fact, all major components have a service life of over 50,000 rounds. Rain, snow, ice, sand and grit- it doesn’t matter. The M249 just keeps going. Its light weight, compact size and 5.56mm NATO chambering make it quicker, more maneuverable, softer shooting alternative to heavier machine guns |
this is an absolute beast! i remember it in the military and it was always dependable and ready to fire. would be an asses to any department.
This gun is sweet! It shoots shooth, theres no muzzle rise, its accurate.
The M249 is amazingly accurate and is known for it's reliability. Was iffy about rating it a 5, but decided to go ahead and give it 5 stars. If it weren't for its rate of fire, you might want to pack something with a bigger punch but in its own category, the M249 is top of the line. My 2 cents.
The safest feeling in a fire team is being the SAW gunner
i wasn't as big of a fan of this one, only because we had two cook offs when i was in training. other than those two problems i like its rate of fire. very scary for the man on the other side
Love this weapon! I had for 3 years in the Army. I'd buy one!
Awesome Weapon!
I love the SAW. Belt fed or if your in a pinch, grab your buddys magazine and insert it in the magazine well. I carried one for a while and absoultely loved it.
There is a Marine Corps bumper sticker that says "Happiness is a Belt-Fed Weapon" -nuff said
i would really like to try this badboy out
MMMMMM DADDY WANTS ONE.
I was a light machine gunner in the U.S. Army back in 2003-2004. This weapon soon became my absolute favorite because of it's reliability even under the harshest conditions. I was also impressed with it's ease of maintenance and how few moving parts it actually possessed. I never had a barrel warpage or had to deadline the weapon for service. The only feed problems that ever occured were when the 30 round mags from the M16A2 were used. The SAW grew on me and after a while I didn't even mind the weight of it, the extra barrels, ammo, and my M16A2. A truly great weapon and I still preffer it over the M16A2 anyday.
