| Description: | QuikClot Hemostatic Agent is in use with the Marines and Army as a major component of Field First Aid Kits where it has been saving lives on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. QuikClot is a temporary traumatic wound treatment that accelerates coa Working at the molecular level, the highly porous QuikClot Hemostatic Agent attracts and adsorbs the smaller water molecules, leaving the larger clotting factor and platelet molecules concentrated in the wound. This forms a powerful clot that stays in place. |
This is a great product to have even around the house if you are facing a major injury that involves a lot of blood loss.
Great product. Have had to use it a bunch of times, just make sure you read the directions or you can put someone into some serious pain (don't get this wet on a wound).
Contact Combat Solutions for their Uniformed First Resposder Pouch, comes with 4 ACS+ sponges, pair of gloves and a cinch tight dressing, pouch fits on your duty belt.
You will want to order the new ACS+ sponge as it is smaller and easier to carry than the military size version.
Combat Solutions can furnish the UFR complete with ACS+ and everything and provide training, Combat Solutions is at 540-361-4541, ask for Chris.
I SEEN THIS WORK WE ALL SHOULD HAVE IT IN OUR SQUADS
I recommend that every officer carry one of these with them or easily accessible in the patrol vehicle. They will save you. Every soldier in Iraq has one, I did, and it works when someone is down and losing blood fast. Yeah, the ER will be mad, because they have to clean all of it out, but you are alive and thats all that matters.
I think this should be issued for every officer in all patrol units.
This is an awsome example of some positive tecnology advances in our field and could be compared with the advent of some of the more monumental medical milestones of our era. It is a much better alternitive in some cases to trying to shove a tampon or a finger in a wound. I strongly agree that this should be standard equipment for all Peace Officers, in Units, First Aid Kits, and on individual Duty Rigs.
I just added this to my kit. I hope I never have to use it!
This product was actually developed by a detective here at our Department and I got to see it several years ago. Great product - it works very well.
We have these in our patrol cars, but I have never personally used one. Heard very good reports on them from other officers that have used them
Just got the product for our go bags. I hope all that I hear is correct. Does it have an experation date?
This product helps my cousins blood disorder.
Cool - now i can stop using my wife's tampons for nose bleeds!
use this product in the military. stopped the bleeding of an artery of a pig. w.c.
I believe this is one of the best products and a must have in any LEO's first aid kit. It is extremely fast acting and will work on just about any wound. I have had to use these several times in the desert and I know first hand that they are effective.
Lifesaver in a small pack! Don't go without one in your med-kit. Works very fast & the product really stays in place once formed.
Excellent, this is a product I must get for my kit, especially since rknight has provided a way to get them. Thank you rknight.
used these in the Army in Iraq...and saved a friend of mine who probably would have bled out if not for my Quik-clot sponge...now that i'm a Deputy Sheriff i carry a Quik-Clot in one cargo pocket and an Israeili Bandage in my other. if i get hit, i can, after the fight is over, i can stop the bleeding and wait for the cavalry to come...live in a very rural area.
In our EMT bags now. This is a great product that would be a good idea even at home.
Good to have to stop the bleeding.
A must have for all departments, especially SWAT and !st Responders. Will allow for time until EMS arrives on scene.
No trauma kit is complete without these. THEY WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!
had to use it on my fellow soliders thank god for it
