I have carried the H&K USP .45 as my primary duty weapon for the past ten years. I am confident that my H&K .45 will function without fail in the most extreme circumstances. I have fired thousands of rounds through my H&K with no major malfunctions. With a good sight picture and smooth recoil, target acquisition is a snap. Being left handed, the ambidextrous magazine release really comes in handy. The safety/decocker can accommodate both right and left handed operators. Ten years ago I chose the H&K .45 for the simple reason that it looked great. Ten years later, I realize it was one of the best law enforcement decisions I ever made.

Probaly one of the most accurate production handguns ive seen in a .45 caliber, it is a solid weapon it has over a 4 inch barrel which makes it extremely accurate its kind of heavy but that is the only negative thing about it.

I too am, a southpaw! When I was in the academy, we were using the old .38 specials and it took me twice as long to load and unload, b/c I had to switch hands. Luckiily, where it count, I hit the targets either between the eyes or in the chest, so the attention was off me for a minute. I got sick of this though and went out and borrowed a friends H &K. I was afraid of it at first, but agree that it is easier to use than most weapons for left-handed people.

One of the finest weapons made in my opinion. Extremely accurate, good ergonomics, great mag capacity for a .45 cal. Come tax return time this will be my next purchase.

I have used the H&K USP.45 Tactical, for three years now. it is the best handgun that i have ever owned. It fires in any weather condition; dirty or not. I have never had a malfunction with this weapon and it is extremely accurate. I used to be a firm believer in the Glock until i picked up the H&K. Now I use the H&K .45 for a duty weapon and an H&K .40 (compact) as a backup/off duty weapon.

I have shot this pistol and it has a good feel to it, even with my small hands. Not so good for onehanded shooting for people with small hands. The only problem I have ever had with this is that it jams with factory target loads. It seems to like hot loads when shooting. Over all I love this pistol just as much as my good Ole 1911.

Great overall duty gun. 12 + 1 of .45acp, accurate, dependable and a tough finish, what's not to like. Well worth the money for personal purchase. Departments would be served well as a dept. issue gun.

Another lefty chiming in, I've carried a USP .45 since 1999. It is accurate, reliable, and comfortable to shoot. It is nice to have a gun that comes in a left-handed variant after years of adjusting to guns that were right hand only.

This weapon doesn't have malfuntions... only the operators that cause them. It just doesn't get any better than an HK .45! I conducted a Sig versus H&K combat/target shoot one time and a female target shooter took the prize operating a USP .45 V-1.

I've carried this gun for several years. It has never jammed on me and I've put a lot of rounds through it. I was considering switching to a Glock because of some problems with my consistancy of shot placement, but have made some adjustments to my shooting style and have brought it all together. Great gun even for the price!

Good firearm but I personally hate the heavy trigger and the bulk of this weapon. It is my standard issue weapon for SERT but I prefer the Glock. I would like to try it with the LEM kit.

H&K...nuff said. If you really need to know it is an accurate, reliable easy to point and shoot sidearm. Not as cheap as a glock (currently issued and forced to carry G23). I am a compact fan (8+1)..easy to conceal, and still super accurate and uber reliable. I am in the process of getting the HK45C (not the USP) and am currently the owner of the HK45 (again NOT THE USP). The HK45 and HK45C have FINALLY got the picatinnay rail system so that you can now choose and use whatever light/laser YOU want instead of buying a setup from HK (their civ setups didn't do much for me). I use the surefire x300 on my G23 when needed and on the HK45 again when needed. The ONLY downside I have found to the HK45C is that the trigger guard extends too long forward and makes accepting the x300 on the rails impossible.

I guess alot of my dislike with this weapon is that HK allowed our department to screw up a great thing. We were only allowed to carry "Variant 5" versions of this weapon. This makes them very uncomfortable to shoot. We carried these for 3 years and I couldn't wait to get rid of it. It weighs a ton too. I fired other HK's and have loved them but the though of a USP 45 makes me cringe.

Best gun I own. I started carrying it almost 10 years ago when the department first authorized it. I have never had a problem with it, except for the fact that it doesn't like the lightweight, Nancyboy load packed into the department's enviro-friendly practice ammo. In the field, however, it performs extremely well. The sight picture is easy to acquire, the weapon maintains a solid feel in the hand from the first round, through the 13th, and it is just a bad-ass gun overall. Not to mention the fact that I shoot better with it than I do the department-issued Beretta 92F.

i own 2 sidearms. my everyday carry weapon is a springfield xd45. the other a usp. i'm completely in love with the springfield and has proved very reliable for the price. my usp is my trophy. my baby. my backup weapon should my springfield decide to take a dump on me. always there and always ready to rock. hk makes such fine guns. the mp5. hk94. even the mp7 is making itself known. overall, i am very pleased with the handling and the action of the usp. i dont think i'll ever let go of it.

I have carried a Glock all of my LEO Career (17 years) and have considered no other. I was at the range the other day and one of the firearms instructors had one of these and offered to let me shoot it. I fell in love with it. It feels good in the hand, I like the sight configuration and the recoil was minimal. As I too am a lefty, I liked the fact that the mag release and the decock were accessible. I have since shot another one for several hundred rounds and can't find a fault with it. I plan to purchase one as soon as I have the money. A wonderful pistol.

Only superceded in my opinion by it's big brother the MK. 23, this is a superb sidearm. True, there are lighter, smaller, quicker on the draw, etc. etc...but the H&K USP series is one that'll never fail you, simply put.
