| Description: | These ASP handcuffs provide a major advance in both the design and construction of wrist restraints. Frame geometry is the result of extensive computer modeling and analysis. Strength potential has been maximized through the use of an interlocking, unitized frame. The handcuff structure is forged from high-strength stainless. The flat bow section provides single movement application preventing slippage on wrist. There is a keyway and double-lock channel on both sides of each handcuff, so removing the handcuffs is easier and safer. The red indicator alerts you if the handcuffs are not double locked. ASP Handcuffs • Lightweight weighs less than 9 oz. • Interlocking unitized frame • Dual keyway • Deep set teeth for extra security • Radiused edges • One direction unlock • Red double-lock indicator • Includes standard handcuff key • Fits in standard hinged handcuff pouches • Serialized |
these next-gen handcuffs are a must have
These are probably the best cuffs I have ever used. Lightweight, easy to handle and idiot proof since the locks are on both sides. Perfect for a rookie with little cuffing experience!
i love these cuffs and use them all the time, but just this week i had them on a very combative subject and he actually bent the hinges.he was an unusually strong subject and im not sure if he was on drugs but he bent the hinges pretty good while he was wearing them!!over all though i love these cuffs...he was trying hard to break them and couldnt, only bent them so i cant complain about that too much
The smootest ratcheting action, lightweight and easy to use. The best
These cuffs have a serious flaw in the double tines. Placing the double tines into the seatbelt clip with a few pounds of twisting force can often pop the hinge pin. There is some wrist pain in doing this, but if a person is all doped up it can be done.
Not a big fan of part plastic part metal handcuffs. Plastic=flexcuffs, metal=standard issued good ol' fashion cuffs. Heard horry stories of people breaking these cuffs with ease. Also, not thats its that big a deal, but you have to buy a separte cuff holder.
the asp handcuffs are really good cuffs but find that the hinged cuffs can be hard to put them on someone that does not want them on
LIKE THE ASP CUFFS,STRONG AND GOOD GRIP.
I just switched to these cuffs not to long ago and love them. I especially love the key holes on both sides. A little pricy and you have to get the cases that fit them, but, other than that, I won't switch back.
A combination of reviews: They are idiot-proof, a must have. I have had these cuffs for more than a year now and they are the ones I go to first. They are lightweight and relatively strong, smooth action once you break them in and with angle bars for easy cuffing and key holes on both sides for switching cuffs they are great. The colored lock indicator is a nice touch - though can be difficult to see in low light conditions. The only problem is if you carry them hanging - the arms have a tendency to feed through all the way and not be ready in the "Loaded Position". I heard they have new Aluminum cuffs out there that are 20% lighter; however I would stay with theses. A great addition to any officer/deputy/trooper/correcional officer who uses cuffs on a daily basis. I would also like to see more teeth on the arms so they could be used for juveniles and females.
Idiot proof huh those would come in handy
Plastic? Come on guys.
Pretty good set. The locks can get a little clunky and you have to make sure you dont lock a cuff after opening. I think they are working to improve the design thru feedback so let them know of any concerns.
Initially were nice. However, have heard horror stories and they do not seem as practical as they were hyped up to be. Will stick with good ole Smith and Wessons.
I HAVENT GOT MINE IN YET BUT I HAVE USED SOME BEFORE AND I LIKED THEM.
I have used these on combative subjects, and they held up well. Only issue occurred when the hinge bent while a subject kept twisting his wrists attempting to get out of them. Also I need to carry a Streamlight cuff key to use these at night since the cuffs are black and it's hard to find the key holes if I am not in a well lit area.
I don't like having the keyholes on both sides. I saw an instructor get out of these.
Will not EVER use these. I've seen them defeated several times by offenders. They can twist and flex while on the offenders wrists and in doing this, they break or pop open. To me, they are a liability and a risk that i'm not going to take. ASP makes alot of other good products, but missed the mark on these.
It may look flimsy but it hard to brake these
I love the ASP chain cuffs. I have never used these particular hinged cuffs, but I am not a fan at all of hinged cuffs. They are too difficult to get on while fighting with someone who doesnt want them on.
The best thing about these cuffs would be the key hole is on both sides and easy to access
the plus side is that they are light weight and easy to manage. but on the minus side they are half plastic which can break easly over time.
very cool
I do own these, but will only use if my smiths are alresdy in use. They lock up on you at the worse times. besides that they're plastic.
I personally don't care for hinged cuffs, but I own two pairs of ASP cuffs with the chains. I like them because they are lightweight and the keyhole is on both sides. I have then in balck and pink!
As I begin to get older I have noticed that I want things lighter I have started to exchange all the heavy-duty gear for the lighter gear. I have been using the asp handcuffs with the chains for almost a year now and I love them. The only fact is you really can’t use them on females or young teens without buying another piece to shrink the cuff. But as for any other person they are great and I wouldn’t be without them.
I like them, and they give you a little more protection as it keeps the bad guy secure.
Awesome cuffs. They are easy to put on with the flat surface in the front they have a much smoother action than traditional cuffs and the key holes on both sides make it easy for the ofc but it can make it easy for the sus to get out if they have a key.
I dont really care for the plastic on the cuffs, i dont think they are as secure. But the light weight makes them a good spare pair to carry.
BEING A CERTIFIED ASP HANDCUFF INSTRUCTOR THESE HANDCUFFS ARE VERY LIGHT AND VERY GOOD FOR SPEED CUFFING. THE ANGLE OF THE TEETH MAKE SLIDING THE RATCHET INTO THE CHEEK PLATE AREA A BREEZE.
I love my ASP hinged cuffs. I have the pink ones and they are not only light and easy to use, but the bright pink color makes a definite impression on the fellow wearing them.
I've heard bad stories about these handcuffs, but I'll just speak from my experience. I love the ASP hinged and chain cuffs. Don't judge it because it has plastic: there's metal underneath the plastic, and they seem very sturdy. I've never had any problems with them. There's plenty of color choices. I think it's great to have the keyhole on both sides, and I love the easy-to-see double-lock indicator. I ultimately go to hinged S&W cuffs before these, just because people are tricky in hiding handcuff keys and I've been able to get them unlocked quite easily with a key in my hand.
I have the non hinged version (last years x-mas gift). I can only carry them off duty. Our department won't allow the use of ASP cuff's for arrests on duty. Where I live we have 4 to 500 pound Samoan and Tongan men that could probably break these. Not a big fan of the plastic. Last guy I hooked up during an off-duty situation kept twisting and pulling trying to pull his hands out, resulting in superficial injuries that he demanded medical attention. I handed him off to local PD who were not happy. Now I just carry my issued peerless.
nice equipment work very well Lightweight and the color and shape are very impresive to the bad guys
GREAT, LIGHTWEIGHT ,BUT THEY DONT ALWAYS LINE UP BECAUSE OF THE PLASTIC..
Great product. Having the keyway on both sides is great but the only downfall in using these is you have to use their handcuff case from ASP. THEY will not fit a standard case because of the Size.
great product. the double lock comes in handy and the bigger teeth grip well. the lighter weight is nice since i carry two sets together and the various colors are a nice touch. i'm contemplating a pink pair for those really "tough" criminals.
These are probably the best cuffs I have used yet. Lightweight and easy to handle. like the fact that the locks are on both sides.
I absolutely love these cuffs. They are my primary pair and ride on the front of my belt for quick access on a daily basis. The keyhole on both sides is great.
I have 2 sets of chained ASP cuffs. I actually prefer these to the Peerless for their lighter weight and smoother actions, but I still don't have proper cuff cases for the ASP cuffs (Non-standard sized). I think the key holes on both sides are handy in some ways but can also be a serious safety & security too if a good proper pat search isn't conducted.
these next-gen handcuffs are a must have, i have two pairs that i use everyday. they are nice and light weight and easy to use.
Bigger, which is nice; don't fit standard holster which is not so nice. I like hinged cuff for speed-cuffing a la PPCT. Gotta practice with them cuz they're definitely different than S&Ws!
My team recieved a pair of these to test. We were told to break them if we can. Everyone tried but no one could do it. I like how light they are and how smooth they can be placed on. I give them a four as I hear its hard to find a pouch for them.
SEEN THEM USED THEM UNSURE IF THEY ARE ANY BETTER THEN THE OTHERS
Good Cuffs
I have a set of these and the chained. Both are really great. Real smooth action and easy to unlock with the dual key. They are also alittle bigger for those overwieght suspects.
good cuffs. I'll take hinged over chain any day.
The new models are ok, but the first models had a defect and were extremely easy to pick.
Love the light weight and very smooth action. Great pair of cuffs.
Probably a great product, JUST NOT IN PINK!!!!!! LOL
I carry two with me. I would say they are twice as light as a pair of smith and wessons. I have never had them fail. I also like the way you can unlock them on either side. Only bad side to them is that you have to buy a asp holder. They will not fit in a regular handcuff case.
key hole on both side
Have a pair of these and the Chained. Got the Chain when they first came out. I love them and the problem that ppl are finding with getting a pouch pick up the ASP pouch. I have had a power lifter friend weighing in over 300 lbs. and benching +500 lbs. and was unable to break the cuffs but did complain about hurting himself while trying to break them. I know this guy to be the toughest guy in my area so if he can't break them I don't think anyone in a normal state of mind will.
