Description:

The introduction of the new Flash line of folding knives debuts SOG's new patent pending S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology). This mechanism helps propel the blade open once the operator has initiated the one-handed opening action. They're fast as lightning, safe, and provide an extremely strong blade lock. This opening action is uniquely different from all others with its fast start and power curve throughout the movement of the blade. When closing the blade into the handle you actually feel as if you are cocking a side arm as the blade is held securely inside the handle. Invented by Spencer Frazer, who always manages to come up with something cleverly different, S.A.T. is the framework for this new line of lightweight folders. The piston lock is easily released with a sliding button. SOG also had the foresight to incorporate an additional safety lock that gives added security when the blade is closed. Note that when the switch shows red, you are ready to go. In addition to SAT, the handles (glass reinforced Zytel OR machined aluminum) are contoured with a new ergonomic sensibility that makes the knife a pleasure to use. SOG has also incorporated a new reversible, bayonet-mounted clip that extends from the back of the handle for the lowest, discreet carry possible and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous opening. Specifications: blade 2.5-inch; handle: 3.25-inch; weight: 2 ounces; AUS8 stainless steel blade (Rc 57-58); lfetime warranty, made in USA. 3.5 in. AUS8 stainless steel blade. Glass reinforced Zytel handle that includes a bayonet mounted clip.

This is a well made knife, but the clip is poorly designed so it makes retrieval cumbersome which also makes it easier to loose this knife. With this knife you will find a strong blade that is also lightweight.

I LOVE THIS KNIFE!!! I CARRY IT ON ME AT ALL TIMES. MAINLY TO CUT OFF THE SHRINK WRAP ON OUR PRODUCT AT WORK(LOWE'S), AND IT JUST CUTS THRU IT LIKE HOT BUTTER. LOVE THE ASSISTED OPENING. VERY WELL-BUILT KNIFE. VERY LIGHTWEIGHT AND BALANCED. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH IT IS THE CLIP. IT'S A LITTLE OF A BEAR TO GET OUT OF MY BACK POCKET SOMETIMES. OVERALL, IT'S A GREAT KNIFE!!!

I have been a staunch supporter of the SOG knives for years. From the first one that I purchased (and still carry with me daily) the SOG AirSog S20 right down to my newest acquirement, this excellently crafted blade. This is an incredible machine, and I do mean machine, not just another knife.

This is a well made knife,.. and I have several different ones that I use. I like this one, the price is nice and it seems to be a strong knife that will last. However, with the ones (all ) that clip on I would be careful..if you carry it clipped in the front pocket you risk two things- one you lose the surprise factor because everyone can see you have it- and 2 you risk when bending over it coming out of the pocket and hitting the ground and opening up. To stop the second from happening, pick a knife that has a safety lock on it to stop it from doing that, and no the safety does not slow the opening process once you get it down.

Excellent quality knife - spring assist makes it a breeze to open. I prefer the Gerber FAST draw however due to the clip placement on the handle. If it catches up on the way out, you find yourself holding nothing. If you modify the clip, it moves around too easily and I worry about losing it. Overall - very rugged blade. Holds and edge quite well even after multiple uses.

I have a SOG that I've used for years and then some. I don't know which model it is but has a (Thumb Wheel ) next to the pocket clip that you can turn and make it very tight on the material of the pants to keep it from riding up and falling off you're pants.....Very nice knife I wish I could remember the model...sorry!

I have the Flash II version without serations. This is one damn fine knife, easy opening, sure in your hand and the blade can split hair. Best patrol knife ever!

Holds a decent edge. I've nearly widdled the serations away (I find they're over rated). I Have to occassionally tighten it to keep the blade from shaking. Clip allows it sit deep in a pocket to make it a little harder for someone to slip it out or from unintentionally falling out. Keep it clean or the blade gets sluggish.

I have a Flash II. Very well made with good safety features. The clip is sort of stiff, but provides good retention.
