Glock 21 (.45 caliber semi-auto for those who aren't sure what the caliber for the 21 is) is the workhorse of the uniformed officer or deputy sheriff. It's my duty weapon issued to acouple thousand sworn personnel in my agency. I like its simplicity and ease of operation. It'll fire round after round without a malfunction as long as the shooter dones't limp wrist it or otherwise cause a human error initiated malfunction.
This is a great duty gun. Made strictly for battle ready use. There are no external buttons that snag. When you need the gun it shoots, and is easy to maintain. Great weapon.
i have had a glock since 1992 and have never had a malfunction. i do not like a safety on a duty weapon. i did not like the stock sights(night sites are best). it is a true duty weapon.
I have carried other duty weapons in the past. However the Glock 21 is a good duty weapon of choice.
hi cap ,hi cabiler , light, nice trigger.
I have carried this weapon for the last 12 years and I have never had a problem with it . Though the recoil is harsh.
The weapon fits my hand and works with my grip. I have very large hands and the glock 21 works. Very user friendly easy to field strip for cleaning. Works very well in wet environments.
Smooth to fire, easy to use, easy to clean and never fouls up. PAcks a big punch and holds alot of lead.
As an instructor I have put 5000 to 10000 rounds through my agency Glock 21 and the only malfuntions I have had I had to set up for drills. A solid and dependable gun.
This is a true officer's weapon with enough stopping power and versatility to "go the distance" in any confrontation.
I have been an officer for 13 years now and have carried Glocks for most of that time. I currently carry the G21SF as it replaced my G23. I started my career carring a 45, but the G21 was always a hair to big for my hands. The new G21SF is a great duty weapon. I have over 5000 rounds thorough it now and not a single malfunction. The 45 ACP is making a comeback in LE, and I believe this a great piece to take a look at if your considering the switch to 45.
Overall a good pistol.
My dept carries the 22 model but I have a 21 model at home and I so wish I could use it at work. It is so nice to shoot. Very powerfull and reliable.
Point and shoot. Sweet!
While shooting this weapon I had a catastrophic failure (kaboom). The weapon was sheared into two pieces and I had brass and plastic embedded in my face.
My agency had another kaboom three days later with the Glock 21. This officer was injured, and cant work because of the pain.
It should be noted that my weapon was cleaned with authorized materials the night before going to the range. I was shooting factory practice ammo.
Officers in my agency no longer carry the .45 Glocks, sadly we are forced to carry the 9mm.
I shudder to think what would have happened if I was on the street and my weapon exploded in my face.
I would carry the .45 again if Glock was able to fix the problem.
5 stars.glock is the best gun for cop duty no matter what the caliber, well except the 9mm.
In the SF version this is probably the most innovative handgun to hit the market this year. I've shot a couple of the SF's. Typical Glock 45 accuracy, very good.
The Glock 21 is an excellent combat firearm. I was an avid Sig Sauer fan until I took the Glock out for a "test ride". I was in a firefight with a Sig 226 (9mm) but now carry the Glock 21 (.45 caliber) as my duty weapon. I carry the Glock 30 as a back-up and off-duty. Hitting center mass is fun and the Glocks are easy to disassemble and clean.
I've owned a Glock 21 for several years and I know it will get the job done. It's durable, accurate, and reliable.
Excellent!!!! I've carried this on the street for 8.5 yrs. Never a malfunction or misfire.. and I've put thousnads of rounds through it
great firearm need I say more....
The glock 21 speaks for itself.
Love Glock! Can't go wrong with any caliber!
I have carried both S&W autos and revolvers. But after shooting the glock to me there is not a better gun on the market.
I used this gun when I was a deputy. I hated it. It was like holding a 2x4.
Low maintenance, hi durability. This is a great gun!
Out of large frame .45 's the Glock 21 is excellent. This weapon is very durable and most of all very accurate!!
I carried one of these several years ago and it was one of the best .45 pistols I have ever shot. It fit my hand well, was back on target quickly and felt minimal recoil. With 3 mags I had 40 rounds ready to go and with that much .45 if you ran out of ammo, you were not supposed to still be there.
My only complaint about this weapon is that, being female, I find that the grips are too wide for my hand. This is a department issue gun and so I have no choice in what to carry. I am not comfortable with it due to this fact.
I have a department issued .45. I love my gun, I could be one of the exceptions to the rule. Being a firearms instructor, I often hear females complain that it is to big. I don't have big hands and I do just fine with it. I've never had a problem with mine.
The Glock 21 is a reliable hand gun, but the grip is a little thick and unconfortable for those with small hand. I like the feel of the New Glock 21SF with the thinner grips. My only other complaint is recoil that is caused by light plastic guns.
Great to shoot. I have never had a malfunction with it. EASY to clean.
Im not one who is real big with weapons. I honestly am scared of guns.. But If its easy to clean and have never had a malfunction then its one for me!!
my carry weapon. love it. its light, very dependable.
That is the gun I used on duty. Great punch. Quite reliable on the shooting range.
Good firearm. Its always reliable. Shoots great and easy to handle.
Makes a nice, big hole in whatever you hit with the round. What else needs to be said??
I carried the Mod 21 for about 5 years on duty. I was carrying a Smith 5609 till one day I went to the range to qualify and could not hit the side of a barn which was very unusual for me. Went the next day to the eye doctor and got glasses thinking that was the problem but the next time on the range, I had the same thing happen. A friend was on the range that day and offered to let me shoot his Mod 21 and I put three rounds in a hole the size of a dime from 30 yards and went the next day and ordered myself a Glock Mod 21. The Lt. over the range said that the sights on my 5906 were out of whack and had to be sent back to Smith & Wesson to be corrected.
I never had any problems qualifying after getting my Glock.
I carry a Glock 21 and I would not carry any other make of gun. Glock in my opionion are very reliable and I do not worry that I will have to use it and it will not work.
The Glock 21 is an awesome weapon. I have carried it for approximately five years. It is an easy weapon to clean and maintain. When I chose a firearm to use on duty it MUST be a weapon I trust. My Glock 21 is a dependable firearm that has never misfired or jammed. I would recommend Glock to anyone.
I have carried this weapon for 6.5 years and love it!! With 13 rounds in the magazine and the stopping power of .45ACP, you can't go wrong. After 1000's of rounds, I have never had a malfunction.
This is the standard issue handgun for my department. Large frame for smaller shooter, the new S.F. should take care of the size. I have over 20,000 rounds through mine and it is working as well as ever. I recommend this handgun to anyone working in "Hostile" environments. Though I am still a 1911 fan, this handgun is my first choice when it comes to a working handgun.
I love this gun. Fits well in my small hands. Very smooth shooting, easy to handle, light and not much recoil. I shoot 98 or above with all my Glocks. Love them!
This is my duty weapon when on patrol. I love the .45 ACP, and this is a fine weapon. Easy to clean, accurate, and always ready for battle. I use a Hogue rubber grip for the Glock 21, and feel very comfortable handling this weapon.
Great service handgun. Most of the of the officers in my department carry it and we have no complaints. I have never had a problem with it.
Excellent weapon, I have carried this and a H&K. H&K is also a fine weapon but for the money you cant go wrong with this weapon.
I love my Glock. I used as my duty weapon, but I also carry it with me sometimes. It is a great gun and shoots with great accuracy. Love it!
a very dependable weapon i love this gun
I am currently carrying a Glock 22, however I have been more than impressed with the Glock 21 .45 cal. Packs a punch and with, in my opinion, less felt recoil
I have carried this weapon for over 6 years and never a problem and also maintains easily, not to mention can out shoot all others on the dept. even the 5.7's [ we shoot what we can buy]
Awesome firearm. I trust my life with this gun!!
This is the gun that works in the mud, rain, sand, dirt, snow or anything else mother nature throws at it, AND STILL FIRES
one of the most dependable guns ever made
Functions flawessly in adverse conditions, does not have to be babied, every trigger is the same.. Best out of the box shooting I have experienced. There are pistols and there are combat weapons. I prefer the Glock combat weapon.
This is the reason they call it "Glock Perfection." This is the perfect weapon. Supreme stopping power.
The Glock 21 is what our department issues to all officers. I have had other handguns in the past but none compare to this one.
My only complaint in the grip size. I have stubby hands so its a little hard to handle.
A Glock is a Glock is a Glock ..... though a good duty gun I'm not much of a fan. Due to it's larger frame I find it very uncomfortable to shoot despite being able to qualify with it every year. I love the .45cal but in my opinion nothing can beat the combat record of a good Model 1911. Damn I love those guns.
Eight years on the force and eight years with the Glock 21. I,ve shot pleanty of hand guns, semi auto, revolvers. My choice of duty weapon is the Glock 21.
very dependable and easy to clean
Easy to use, reliable, makes big holes. Enough said.
Great blunt force trauma when needed
This is my off duty weapon. I trust no other. GREAT GUN
Very good weapon. This is standard issue by my department.
Great weapon as is any glock. Powerful. It's the department issue gun. It fits my hands perfectly I love the feel of the gun. If your a bigger guy and you shoot this guy, you will love the feeling compared to some tiny gripped 9mm or .40. This the big man sized gun. Maybe be too large for some people with smaller hands, I have heard some of the smaller guys in the department complain about how big the gun is.
I love this handgun. I have owned a 21 for 6 years and it has never given me a problem. All you have to do is maintain it and it will never fail you. It fits perfectly in my hand, the trigger pull is the same everytime and it's consistant. I would highly recommend this handgun to anybody!!
I hesitated giving up my 1911 copy due to the make not being supported by my local department. However, after 3,500+ rounds and NO Failures except those induced by instructors I have nothing but good to say. This is the only pistol I will own and trust. Everytime I have pulled the trigger it has gone BANG! Nothing more to say!
Proud NEW owner of Glock 21. I have never owned a Glock until recently. This is my new duty weapon and I love it. It is extremely accurate and the recoil is not much more than a Glock 22. Fits my hand perfect.
I used to be a 1911 guy untill I experienced the reliabilty of this sidearm! I love having 13+1 rounds of 45 without a magazine change. This weapon is not for guys with small hands!
nice gun. very reliable. low maintenance. wont think twice in carrying this gun to work.
I carry this as a off-duty weapon. I love Glock's. They are absolutely one of the most reliable weapons on the market. The only thing it doesn't do well, is fire frangible ammo. Don't know why.
Accurate, tough and reliable... I carry this as a backup weapon in my car and have more faith in it than my primary duty weapon, the Sig Sauer P226R. In an ideal situation, this is the tool that I would grab to get the job done in a firefight. The Sig would simply watch from the sideline...
A lot bigger than my 17, but it gets the job done. Kind of big for females, it takes some getting used to. When there is a round in the chamer and your loading a full magazine you really have to jam it in there to seat. I like the load indicator to let you know if there is a round in the chamber, no more press checks.
my fav. one.
Very durable weapon. I like it.
I carried a S7W 686 357 for years the a S& W Sigma 357. The glock 21 is by far the best duty weapon I have ever carried. I love the full size grip as I have a large hand, and the stopping power of the .45 cal is awesome.!
I carry this weapon on duty and I have never had it jam. In out department we qualify 2 times a year and I have never even had a miss fire. I truly love my weapon.
Great Product!!!!
my duty weapon of choice! excellent waepon, great accuracy. i would carry nothing else!
Great Weapon!
NICE
My only complaint is the grip size is too large. It shoot it fine and it was reliable, until I tried to shoot with gloves on. Between the size fo the grip and the length of the pull I have a hard time when I added a glove to the reciepe. I think the 21SF will be a better choice for most people.
The Glock 21 far surpasses any other weapon I own, in terms of reliability, ruggedness, ease of use, low maintenance and expense. I have long considered most 1911 style pistols to be superior in terms of accuracy, where as the Glock 21 is the work horse of the .45 caliber weapons. Most 1911's require a fair amount of maintenance and the Glock can be used, abused time and again.
