For the price has proven to be a reliable and dependable carbine for everyday Law Enforcement and Tactical Operations. Add an Holographic Sight and external light source for accuracy and night ops.

I agree! This weapon is fantastic and served its purpose well over in Iraq. It is also extremely lightweight compared to the M16.

I used to have one of these wonderful rifles (AR15 A3 M4), and I miss it tremendously. The only problem I ever had was that the receiver pivot pin seemed to fit loose and slide around on occasion.

Great lightweight weapon. I have used it here on the streets and also in the deserts of the Middle East, no big problems.

I love this weapon, its lightweight, easy to use, extremely accurate and its easy for a woman to use as well. NOT too mention the thrill of shooting it. My husband and I use this one for target practice well more me than him those poor bunnies... But over all we never have had a problem with it.

This is another tool that every patrol Officer needs to have in his "tool box". With it's light weight, and versatility, it can be used for building searches, or just handeling a perimeter possession. It is the ace in the hole when the chips are down. The gun system is user friendly and easy to handel, while remaining accurate in the harshest environments with minimal malfunctions (most due to the ammunition being used).

Great rifle. I carry it everyday on the road and and all the confidence in the world with it. It also nice to have the flashlight attachment and 3 point sling with it. I have used the flashlight attachment before since I always work midnights.

I do like this product and its applications were tramendous in Iraq, But in the hostile environments in Afghanistan, remedial actions were taken more than they should have. Im sure that this weapon is wonderful in any state in the US, Does anyone have anything to say about the 6.8.

This is the closest we have to the M-4 we use in the Air Force. Ours has a rail system on it for attachments, mine has a pistol grip and all in the Air Force have an optic that allows for laser aiming. I love this weapon, lighter easier to shoot than the M-16, never shot expert on the M-16, first time on the M-4 shot expert and have ever since.

Excellent weapon, used in all of our patrol cars, easy to operate. We use Eo-tech scopes on ours, but I would have chosen another optic. Fired the gun several times and in all kinds of weather, never a problem. This includes the harsh Buffalo winters

My first and everlasting experience with the M-4 was when it was issued to me at the Al-Sadeer Hotel in Baghdad, Iraq.

Give me any handgun, knife or blunt-type instrument and away we'll go. The phrase 'bringing a knife to a gun fight' ,being in Iraq, comes to mind after I wrote and reread that last sentence.

We then went to the 'firing range' which looked like any abandoned concrete lot in this war-torn savaged country. Heck, we could have just driven through Sadr City [as moving targets] and would have gained a great measurability of experience. My brothers whom have been there will agree.

The M-4 works, it really works, in heat, sand, [and sand storms] rain and yes even in the snow country up northeast in the Kurdish Region.

I'm, with pride and workable knowledge, will add the M-4 to my list.

Local police department here bought these for Tactical Unit, and apparently had all kinds of issues during full-automatic operation. Reportedly the product support was good, but I guess the issues darkened a cloud over these rifles because word has it they are buying Rock River for general patrol issue. I still think Bushmaster is a fine product and would be near the top of my list (especially since I won't be buying one in full auto)

I CARRY A COLT EVERYDAY BUT AT HOME ITS A BUSHMASTER. JUST AS GOOD FOR A LOT LESS CASH. THEY ALSO OFFER MANY RIFLES NOW IN 308 OR 7.62X51 FOR YOU MILITARY TYPES. PERSONALLY, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE MILITARY GO BACK TO THE 7.62 ROUND AND LEAVE THE 223/5.56 TO THE GROUNDHOG HUNTERS. THE KINDER / GENTLER NATO 9MM /5.56MM BS CONTINUES TO GET PEOPLE KILLED ALL THE TIME. OUR PEOPLE! AAAH! DONT GET ME STARTED!!!

Mine's just as nice and shoots as well if not better with my dot sight than my CAR-15 issued in '68...just as solid, well balanced and fitted with a light on the front for hands free usage, first class...when asked why I carry my Glock 26, I usually tell them it's to give me enough time to get to my trunk...that's when the fun starts!!!

Great for CQB and MOUT. I still miss my M16A2.. The distance is much less.
However the handling and travel of the m-4/ .223 is awesome esp for Law Enforcement.
