| Description: | Many people are both repelled and intrigued by the images of cold-blooded, conscienceless murderers that increasingly populate our movies,, television programs, and newspaper headlines. With their flagrant criminal violation of society's rules, serial killers like Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy are among the most dramatic examples of the psychopath. Presenting a compelling portrait of these dangerous men and women based on 25 years of distinguished scientific research, Dr. Robert Hare vividly describes a world of con artists, hustlers rapists, and other predators who charm, lie, and manipulate their way through life. Are psychopaths mad or simply bad? |
I used this book for my Forensic Psychology course, and it is a must read for any one in Law Enforcement. Dr. Hare does not use psycho-babble in this book and presents famous and no so famous case histories of psychopaths. Whether or not you read this book to further your knowledge on the job or just because you like reading this sort of thing (like I do), it's a great well written book. Can be bought used on Amazon or Half.com.
It's all in the eyes....dark shallow as if you could see right through them...I'm glad I read this one...It's a great insight when supervising close management/life sentence inmates..
