| Description: | Postive-lock, expandable, side-handle batons are specifically designed for close-quarter confrontations. Available in 3 choices: the Expandable Control Device, the Expandable PR-24® and the Rigid PR-24® . These batons are excellent in defensive techniques. They also give you control of a subject without excessive use of force. |
WIth the proper training this can be a very useful product for the patrolman or deputy who may find themselvs in a close quarters or riot encounter.
Definately my choice of baton.
Prefer to carry an asp. This thing is too bulky and gets in the way.
I agree that it is too bulky to carry on your person but, in our state prisons... this is a handy little tool when putting together an extraction team. Usually the sound of 5 pairs of boots marching in time together is intimidating enough to disengage a situation.
Great for close quarter battle and defensive techniques.
this is one of the best baton ever made that what i think
Carried this modle for may years. Fast to draw and expands with ease. Excellent striking weapon.
excellent
Hey, this thing is very good for snaping on a subject. The very effect of the lock sounding off is enough to back up a crowd and giving you the needed space to defend and /or parry an attack or defuse even a situation.
these things come in very handy for close combat or just to detain someone without getting your own arm tangled up with someone else.
Wish I could carry this thing its the greatest
Best there was when I was on active duty
I use this as a backup to my expandable straight ASP. It definitely comes in handy, especially when someone needs to be extracted involuntarily from a vehicle ;)
The ASP just does not have the same sound you make contact.
Have not used any type of PR-24 since USMC. Back then they did not collapse. The PR-24 has more uses then they ASP. I highly recommend this.
never was much on one of these. asp is much better
I gotta say I like the ASP much better. This baton even colapsed is WAY too big an bulky taking up as much space on your duty belt as your piston.
I like this, it has the PR-24 ability, and the expanable baton "shotgun" effect.
My Expandable Baton + my PR-24 in one weapon - Awesome!!
these things a awsome to have in fight without a gun
Where do I begin? What a piece of junk! I would never recommend or allow any of my officers to use this thing. One, it's a side handle baton (PR24 for all the Monadnock folks) which, was proven to be a very ineffective striking tool with the Rodney King incident! Its handle is its weakest point, which energy will always find (hint, study energy and how it works...it will always find the weak point or the path of least resistance). Two, its hollow if you get the expandable model....again learn how energy works! What has more resistance, a leg with fat, muscle, ligiments, and dense bone or a hollow tube? The path of least resistance is the hollow tube. I am certified to teach every impact weapon out there, including the ASP! I will never teach a class on this product because it is designed to fail! I am sure that in 1974, when Lon Anderson turned the Okinawa Tonfa into a side handle baton and Monadnock bought the rights, it was the best at the time. But nothing bets a good ole SOLID straight stick!
Does great in my divider in my passenger seat as a hat holder. Since the Taser is out and about I have less arm bars and limb restraints to apply with my ol "PR"
Mall Security still uses this product. Great extension of my arm.
I trained on one of these at Ft Leonardwood. It's easy to use and a big help!
Excellent Striking Weapon!
Current issue for Military Police. With training it's very effective, but it's still pretty bulky to carry around. I prefer the straight stick friction baton like the ASP.
