| Description: | This vehicle provides up to 71.6 cu ft of storage and a Electronic Stability Program, all speed traction control, four wheel disc anti-lock brakes and brake assist with a 2.7L V6 engine. |
I don't drive a police version but I do own one. I love this car. Tons of room and horse power. I got it with a HEMI. I would love it if Chicago got a few of these.
It will be interesting to see how long a 2.7L engine is holding up after 60K miles. The last Chrysler I drove was fine until it crossed the 35-40K threshold then it started to rattle like a tin can full of rocks and the V-8 began to tire. I cannot imagine that a 2.7L is going to hold up for a long life in police work, even a hemi. Would be a real wonder if it did. Don't use the AC, boys.
This makes for a nice K9 vehicle.
nice.
Ummm... No thank you.
Faster than anything else out there, if equipped correctly. Needs better mileage so more agencies will consider it. Roomy and comfortable. As for Chrysler reliability...we'll see...
I HAVE ONE WITH HEMI FOR K9 WORKING CRIMINAL INTERDICTION NOTHING BETTER LOTS OF ROOM AND FAST
Can anyone tell me how these bad boys ride on ice, snowy roads.....Im researching them, but they seem to be pretty good
MY WIFE HAVE ONE WITH THE HEMI IN IT AND BOY IS IT FAST
looks cool!
narrow windows and very small trunk....no room for the monkey.
The Dodge came out with a nice package. As a driving instructor we tested ten models of the new Dodge Charger. We found several safety issues which include a delay when trying to go from drive to reverse, this raised some issues with me when an officer is on a traffic stop and needed to back away to get a reactionary gap, a second is to long. Also I found that only after s few hundred miles, the brakes needed to be replaced. This vehicle would be great for a highway interdiction team not for a patrol vehicle. There are defiantly to many blind spots, not enough room, but it is fun to drive fast.
it's the best.
We used these as patrol cars for a special unit in my old department, and the guys loved them.
The Dodge Charger looks alot better than the crown vics
I drive the 2005 Magnum. It has pros and cons. These are compared to the crown Vic.
Pros: More driver, passenger room. Very smooth driving and great handling. Faster pick-up and can beat v-8 fords ( I have the v-6). Better front seats with a high head rest.
Cons: Blind spots everywhere with a K-9 cage. Lower to the ground and cannot go up curbs very well without hitting the bottom. Trunk is spacious but hard to reach in the back without almost having to climb in. Center console on the 2005 makes it hard to grab the seatbelt with a gunbelt on. I have the shifter in the center console which gets in the way of my lights and siren controller.
One more thing which can be either a pro or con. I am the only one with the magnum in the city. Everyone stops and asks me about the car. People pull up to me at traffic lights, pull up when Im traffic stops. It really gets hard to smile and talk about the car for the 500th time. But then again I wanted to be a movie star before being a cop....
fast , great stability, fast pick up .
in my opion, wud make a great evidence tech/csi veh. the suv's are good too. but i wud prefer a car and this one wud be it. fast, sleek looking, trimmed. gotta love it!!!
Can see this as either a crime scene vehicle possibly K-9
Too big.
Heard that agencies that have them really like them. They have a lot of room inside and perform great
Damn sweet!
Plenty of room!
Looks like a good car.
Looks Great!
I hate the three second delay in shifting gears
Wisconsin State Police use the Magnum sweet car.
