| Description: | Intended for Municipal Marked Patrol Duty. This Crown Victoria features a Grafix Shoppe Stripping Kit, Federal Vista Lightbar, Whelen LED Mirrors, and a Decatur Radar System. |
I like this vehicle alot. My dept. just recently changed our fleet from the Chev Impala to the Ford and I couldn't be happier. The Chev. was way to small compared to this vehicle..
Great pick up, smooth ride and great braking features on this vehicle. This car starts off a bit slow but, when it opens up, get out of the way!
My old dep had crown victorias i love them they take a beating and keep going. also have alot of room I love them : >)
I like my ford. However, we have had a lot of fuel related failures. Ford tells us it the fuel. I think theres more to it than fuel. They have are replacing fuel pumps.
i am a ford guy! the vehicle is the best for law enfoecement related work , i think the most important thing before the purcharse is the specifications . Get the right specs. no problem.
very reliable
Large dependable rear wheel drive car.
Ive driven a variety of diffrent police vehicles, but to this day I still believe the crown vic still has the most bang for the buck. And its got the power to back it up. These cars are just amazing for their shear size, comfort, reliability, and pickup and go. Im a GM guy but Ive gotta admit it that The Ford Crown Victoria can take a beating and keep on ticking out surpassing the V6 Chevy Impala.
the crown vic is the standard by which all other cruisers must be judged...
'Vickie'. Great sled. I have logged 10's of thousands of miles in these Fords with ne'er a problem. Gotta say, though, that the old Chevy Caprice with the de-tuned Corvette motor was an E-Ticket ride along with the old Dodges with the 440 Magnum.
I retired in 1999 from the MNPD in Nashville and the Department was starting to purchase Chevrolets. They were too small for what they were needed. I have always liked the Ford Crown Vic...It has plenty of room for transporting prisoners, etc...The Ford gets my vote but I only give it 4 stars because there is always room for improvement for the men and women in BLUE.... www.CODE-5000.com
We drive the Chevy at the dept. I'm working at now. After driving the Crown Vic for the past 17 or so years, its like stepping out of a limo(FORD) into a (VW BUG) Chevy.
Just drive one for yourself. Youll see
I drive an '05 crown vic, but I think its a great car! I saw someone mention the fuel pump issue, we had the same thing @ BSO (Broward, Fl). Other than that, no complaints. I wrapped one around a tree, looked like someone took a can opener to it, but I walked away with nothing thanks to the man upstairs and that car. it is a little slow outta the box, especially compared to the chargers we have, but once its rollin', look out. Lastly, don't know why Ford put that external antenna on the '05's but everyone must have told them it was stupid like I did, because they only did it that year.
I love the Crown Vic, having depended on it to get me to calls for injured persons in crashes, and calls for armed suspects, this car gets up and goes, brakes very well, and has plenty of room to haul your gear, unlike the Chevy Impala. It maneuvers well too. It packs a V8 as well, which is very nice for those catching those speeders that are really hauling butt. I think the Charger is probably the only thing out there that will top this police fav.
Crown Vics suck in a big city. They are way to big.
Can't say I love Crown Vic's. It seems that 2004 models and later tend to over heat and the A.C. breaks down. I had both problems. They change the fan motor and the tensioner for the over heating. With the A.C., they had to change the High and Low pressure switch. I know a Trooper that has a 2003 and everytime he does a 10-50 (traffic stop), he has to pop his hood. They can not find the problem. I want a Dodge Hemi!
It's not a Charger, that's why it deserves a 3 star. Go do a charger test drive, you'll understand.
Ours didnt come with the power adjusted pedals like my 03. The seats and ride are better but it seems like the 07 is slow getting up to speed. I noticed a real difference and dosent seem to corner as well either
Best car I've ever driven!
Good car! Good handling at high speeds!
Crown Vic's have always been a good choice for manuverability and room.
Sit low enough to the ground to take curves well. Lots of room in the rear seat.
Trunk is a bit small but isn't it always!!!!
been with the Sheriff's Office 25 yrs, lots of new cars, but this one handled and ran like a champ. never had one I like any better....
I am 6'7" and the Vic is about the most comfortable patrol vehicle I have been in. We still have some Intrepids on the road, they are nightmares for me.
Give me a V-8 anytime. Good off the line but doesn't know when to stop, until the rev limiter kicks in. Lots of room for my 6'3" frame. Trunk holds everything needed for a SWAT sniper, traffic officer and whatever I am doing that day.
I drive them to work in, but I will never drive a Ford on a day off.
We have had Chevy Impalas and Ford Crown Vics at our department and I have found for the long haul the Crown Vic is a much stronger and more reliable vehicle.
AS MUCH AS I LOVE CHEVROLET AND AS MUCH AS I LOVED THE OLD CHEVROLET CAPRICE, WHICH I BELIEVE IS THE BEST SQUAD CAR EVER PUT ON THE ROAD, THE FORD CROWN VICTORIA IS DEFINITLEY MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE,ROOMIER THAN THE IMPALA. OUR DEPARTMENT'S FLEET IS ALL IMPALAS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A COUPLE OF UMARKED UNITS AND OUR DARE UNIT. THE FORD CROWN VICTORIA LOOKS VERY NICE AND I THINK IT IS A VERY GOOD SQUAD CAR.
I have been in Fords most of my LE career. I like the the 2007's I have about 7500 miles on mine now. They have made some good changes to the suspension and witht elarger wheels you have much less body roll than with some previous models. I have had to get used to the new seats with a full belt they were not very pleasant in the begining. They are a lot quicker and have a beter top end that the past few years. The only draw back I have noticed is the new steering set up in a hard corner while braking the steering gets really tight and can be a bit agitating while trying to call a pursuit on the radio and turn. This is a really great offering from Ford for a patrol vehicle.
Best patrol car on the market. Badly in need of an update. You'll miss her when she's gone...
Now this is the best, traditional police car on the market....it's durable and proven in the field!!!
I LIKE THIS PATROLE CAR. IT BEATS THE IMPALA ENY DAY FOR ROOM
Still just a Crown Vic with a little extra. Historically depenable, but I've driven a lot of different cars, and a police car should be better. I've never been a Dodge fan, but it seems the Charger has what Ford needs, and looks like it just may run it over.
What a great car. It's hard to beat the V-8.
Its a crown vic... what can i say? Sure, it looks like a granny car, but its got the get up n go (mid-range) and handling that gets the job done.
We have so many mechanical problems with our Crown Vics. I can count numerous times in the past month that guys go to start their vehicles and the thing dies on them, leaving them stranded. I wish Chevy brought back a Caprice package for patrol units - only because I am a Chevy guy at heart.
Best damn police car ever made... I like the charger, but I'm glad i got to drive this during my FTO period.
2nd issued car (1st was 2000 CV). Great work car.
More room, more power, bigger trunk.
On my 2nd Vic and still going strong. Love the way they handle and get where they are going fast.
All I can say is they have always been my favorite.
Good for rural areas where speed is needed and not worried about handeling in tight spots
These things are the greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started my LE career in one. I did bust a wheel in the driving course in the Academy in 1985. But other than that never had any problems. Sorry, had a flashback to 85.
best all around patrol vehicle out there
The Ford Crown vic is the staple of American police patrol cars. Since the demise of the Chevy caprice, the Crown Vic was the only really suitable everyday patrol car out there. Recently Dodge has offered the Charger & Chevy now offers the Tahoe. But the Crown vic has been the mainstay for many years. It is terrible in snow and the Chevy used to outrun it but it does what we need it to do day after day.
The old standby. It's a pitifully "old" design, and you have to "standby" while going through to find a serviceable vehicle in the fleet! What a pile-o-cr*p. I have an Impala now, 3X the gas mileage, better acceleration and top end. I'm in North Idaho, and rear wheel drives are a BAD idea in the snow.
I beg to differ, also, that there is any more noticeable room in the Crown Vic. I am 601 and 200 and am more comfortable in the Impala than in the Vic. There is also more room in the back for prisoners (I don't really care about that part).
Anything but the Vic. They should have stopped making these in 1993. Even the Corvair was safer.
I love the crown vic police interceptor. I have been involved in over 30 police chases with this vehicle in my years, and I have not lost a suspect yet. I have done things with this car, some by accident of course, that I did not think possible. Great control and turning. Wouldn't change a thing.
Great Car.... Speed sensitive steering is kind off tricky first time i went to make a u- turn at higher than normal speed i almost crashed into the ditch... not good wouldnt recommended it. Great handling at high speeds though its great...
This is my second Crown Vic. I love the room in them. It handles great at high speeds.
I've driven Crown Vics from the start and I don't want to drive anything else. The room is fantastic. I tried an Impala for a while but Just didn't fit well.
Here at the MP School we teach high-speed, high performance driving and I have become a fan of the Crown Vic. Handling is great, pick up is decent. We can about 60 in reverse. We have customized the brakes and put full skid plate kits on them. I may even buy one.
The Crown Vic is by far the best overall well-rounded police vehicle. It has great leg room. I'm 6'4"
and I still have room. No front wheel drive here. Just good old fashioned rear wheel. I like the look of the Charger, but it's a little cramped. The steering is tight and has plenty of power when you need it. I've been in plenty of chases and keeping up is not a problem. Ford shouln't change a thing but maybe some minor cosmetic appearances.
I love this car! I throughly enjoyed using it for the first time at EVOC training. This car can move, and it can stop on a dime.
i lvoe crown vics there a classic and when i finnaly apply and if i graduate im gunna get a crown vic for an off duty car
My Dept. has only one 2007 Crown Vic but as with every one of the units I've had in 10 years they have all but one been Fords. I believe it is a very solid good all around vehicle that is affordable, OK on fuel mileage, and low cost to take care of. They do not excel in any one area but they provide a low cost solid platform for agencies that do not have huge budgets and will provide long service. Plus they are universally recognized as Police vehicles and the public recognizes them as such.
It is tried and true, My first Patrol Car was a 92 Chevy Caprice it was the oldest one in the yard! I loved that car when it came time to upgrade to a Vic It was bittersweet.
Years ago my first patrol car was a Chevy Lumina. I felt like a kid in a go cart! Crown Vics are definately the best cruiser around. It's the "muscle car" for cops!!!
it's all i know and therefore all i love!!
After 15 years thats all I have driven. Like to try out the Dodge Charger.
I like the crown vics. Some prefer the impalas: (They're ok, but for me, there's not enough interior room, I don't like front wheel drive, and they don't have adjustable pedals... some of the very reasons that I prefer the Crown Vics...). We're allegedly getting some Chargers this year. I'm looking forwrad to trying them out. I've had several pursuits in the Crown Vics. I like the way they handle.
I have had several vehicle assigned to me - but none that I love as much as a Ford CVI. This vehicle combines the right amount of space, agility and power in a package that is as comfortable 8 hours into your tour as it was when you started.
These cars are designed to take the daily abuse our job seems to dish out with little or no problems to speak of. This vehicle does maintain better road control in various weather & road conditions than the Chevy Impala or smaller Ford contenders. For those who drove the old "box" Caprice or Diplomats, this is as close as you can get in a modern package. The mph to mpg is somewhat better than the Dodge, althought the Dodge does give you a little more on the speed side. If properly spec'ed out and maintained, this vehicle will serve for years without any major issues.
I am driving a 2007 Vic now. I have noticed that when I am making a u turn while applying the brakes, the steering becomes stiff in the turn. I have not notice this in older Vics. Has anyone else had this problem?
Could be quicker off the line but the Crown Vic has saved my butt on occasion from serious injury in on duty accidents.
hat can I say. Drive this car every tour of duty and have absolutely no complaints. Little slow off the line but handles well when needed and gets me from point a to b.
Ol' Faithful
Pound for pound you just can't beat the Crown Vic for a police cruiser, durable, roomy, powerful.
in 27 years of law enforcement they've taken a licking and kept on ticking.
love fords
Ford Crown Vics are great but it’s not a Dodge Charger, that's why it only deserves a 3 star. Go do a charger test drive; you'll understand why Dodge Chargers are the new Crown Vics.
I love the Crown Victoria versus a Impala. I mean when it comes down to speed or size I prefer safety. My father while enroute to a call with lights but no sirens what side swiped by a lady in his older model crown vic. They had to use the jaws of life to get him out. The accident investigator said that if he would have been in a impala or intrepid he could have been killed or more seriously injured. I had driven crown vics for years now and prefer them they last longer and get a higher top end speed.
I would like to rate this car higher, but the newer they get, the smaller they are on the inside. I am 6'10" and prefer the older 2003 crown vics in our fleet. Other than that, they are good cars. We just got a couple brand new models and they have had a few quirks from the start like CEL's and airbag lights but they were easily fixed. I just need something with more room.
The crown vic is the # 1 all time patrol car in my opinion. I drive one daily and would turn down a new non ford vehicle to keep my 2007 crown vic speed handleing and preformance are #1
Good patrol vehicle. Do not let the RPMs get over 4000 for very long. Ours started acting up after quick take-offs and the dealer said that the computer would shut down the injectors after a few seconds of going over 4000 RPMs. Otherwise a great vehicle. Pretty roomy on the inside.
I do parking enforcement for Clifton PD and it is just a great car. Powerful and reliable.
I was issued a 2007 Crown Victoria in Feb. 2007. This is a great patrol unit in my opinion. I'm not a real fan of the speed limiter of 120mph. My old C/V was a 2002 and would run 135mph. When another officer calls for help....I don't even think 500mph would feel fast enough for me. I'm looking forward to drivng a Hemi Charger patrol unit. I've heard rumors that Ford will stop making the Crown Victoria in 2009? Anyone heard this information also??
Dose not handle well in the snow unless you put on the chains. Powerfull engine good acselaration roomy. Good safety.
Great reliable car. Handles well and rides smooth. Also has plenty of room to haul all my crap around inside of it. The only issue I have found with Crown Vics is occasional electrical system problems. Other then that they are a great vehicle.
Still the best squad car!! Lots of room for 6'4" people like me!!!
Simple it is a classic. I just like it
smooth ride we got these i like it but i would rather roll that charger..
Love my squad!
Like this vehicle plenty of room in the front seat as well as the back for transporting. Truck has sufficient space for storage of all equipment. Car handles and accelerates great. Wouldn't trade it.
