Description:

The HK USP (Universal Self-loading Pistol) is the first service pistol based on a modular concept. During development of the USP, the requirements of the Military and Security forces have consistently been taken into consideration. Thanks to the use of an improved Browning locking system with a patented buffer system, the USP recoil behaviour is unobtrusive even during the use of the highest powered ammunition. The buffer system reduces recoil forces and increases both service life of the pistol as well as improves recoil behaviour. The modular design of the USP enables an individual adaptation of safety and trigger mechanisms to any requirement.

Best, most reliable handgun I've ever carried. Seen most other brands fail, going on over 7500 rounds without a single malfunction.

Our PD carried this gun (and its little brother, the USP Compact) until about a year ago, when we transitioned to the Sig 1911 (GSR) and the Sig P226 with DAK trigger.

Fine gun. There was no real need to change, except the Chief decided he wanted to do so. Most of our officers purchased their H&K during the transition.

Very well made weapon. H&K prides itself in test and evaluation phases and produces what I think is the best weapon out there for law enforcement

There is, simply put, not a better handgun manufacturer on the planet than Heckler & Koch. I carry an H&K, I've trained my wife with an H&K, and I trust both of our lives and our well-being to this handgun.

This is what my department uses not only for Correctional Officers during transports but for our Court, Road, Detectives, everybody in the dept.! This is a fine weapon which I trust my life with and plan on purchasing for my own off-duty protection. If youve never shot one you need to and you can tell the difference between it and other handguns.

Department issue for the last 6 years that I know of. Not one single missfire, jamm or malfunction in that time frame that I know of.

My personal weapon of choice. From a woman's stance and since I have small thumbs, it was great to finally find a gun that has the mag release on both sides. I can easily use the right mag release instead of having to flip the gun around to get it to a point where I can use my thumb to hit the mag release.

I love my full size H&K USP .40. This gun is an absolute trooper... I've put it through all sorts of hell and it's never failed me. I've had mine for over 7 years and I've put thousands of rounds through it without any problems. In fact, the only time I experienced a malfunction was due to operator error - I limp wristed it and caused a misfeed. The only down fall is that it's a big-ass gun and not easy to conceal - but it is my duty gun so most of the time it's out there in the open. It was spendy, but I'm glad I bought it.

I own this handgun and it is a very dependable weapon. The only flaw is when it becomes low on ammo it becomes very light in the back end and this can affect muzzle control.

I carry this weapon off duty. I have fired thousands of rounds through this weapon. I have fired everything from reloads, to duty ammo. This weapon never malfunctioned or missed. I will continue to carry this weapon off duty, until I buy another H&K.

Excellent weapon that shoots great. It is a little bulky but feels comfortable in a paddle holster on my hip. I like it so much I have two or them.

The variant 1 (DA/SA) has a heavy DA trigger. I have had one in 45 and 40. Worked every time all the time. Trigger control was difficult on the DA I knew when it would break and found it hard to not stage the trigger.

Purchased my H&K USP 40 new in 1994 and have carried it through the academy and as a duty weapon through late 2007. Never a single problem. Reliable, no rust (I work on the coast in the San Francisco Bay Area, so we get LOTSA SALT), and an absolute great weapon! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! Recently replaced with a Kimber TLE/RLII as my SWAT sidearm just because I happen to shoot a little more accurately with the Kimber.

My department went to this gun a little over a year ago. Some people don't like the LEM trigger on it. I'm used to it and think it's a fine sidearm.

This was the first duty weapon that I every purchased. I have Variant #3 on my full size and my compact USP. I carried them until I moved to a departent that required me to carry the Glock.

Was and still is my favorite firearm!

Absolutely AWESOME!!!!! I have fired the glock and this one since they actually fit my hands. One handed firing is simple and it can be held on target without a problem. Off handed shooting is also good. I wouldn't trade it for anything, except for a USP .45.

I have bought and sold many handguns over the years-but I would sell family members before this gun! It is by far the most accurate handgun I have, and that includes the Glock 21 and the M & P compact 9mm. The finish stands up to all kinds of environments, making it excellent for duty or ccw use. The trigger guard is wide enough to incorporate gloves in colder weather, and the trigger itself breaks clean. I can get sub 2" groups @ 25 yds. with this gun without a rest-more than adequite for duty or ccw use. There are several accesories available, and for ccw I find the Blackhawk CQC distributes the weight of this larger pistol evenly and tucks it close to my body to prevent printing. Overall just a phenominal handgun! Don't shy away from the price. I was able to find a used USP for $480.00 in excellent condition, and anyone who is even vaguely familiar with handguns knows you get what you pay for. Heckler and Koch...NUF SAID!!!

Love this handgun. Really accurate for a pistol. With a flashlight attached, it seams unstopable. Could only use the full model, the compact is too small.

I was issued this by my department and so far it's been an outstanding sidearm, I've never had any issues with it. Haven't had any failure to feeds, stove pipes, etc. and it feels really good in my hand. Easy to disassemble and clean.

I carried one of these weapons on duty for almost 11 years and it only malfunctioned once. Which was earlier this year. The firing pin broke. I must have put atleast 350 rounds through it a year. Due to its age I replaced it, but even though I have a new duty weapon I will get the old one repaired because I believe without a doubt this is one of the best handguns around.
