| Description: | Standard wrist-to-wrist restraint. Even though retired, I still keep a pair in the glovebox; never know where or when that "just in case" incident may occur... "I'd rather have and not need than to need and not have". |
Sturdy construction, reputable manufacturer. Stainless steel finish requires minimum cleaning and care with maximum reliability. I don't know many LEO's who want to take the time to keep blued cuffs polished... too much of a pain.
Like Brother 204 says, reputable company and the ease of cleaning is a huge plus.. I throw mine in boiling water and then give them a shot of lube, and they are ready for the next dirtbag.
Have never failed me
often imitated never duplicated
I have only had to restrain one subject as Loss Prevention so far. They worked flawlessly and I'm glad i had these instead of the off-brand the store gave us.
I use my for educational Purposes i am among a group of students and advisors that teach hands on at my college, so we are constantly getting cuffed....I love these cuffs, i use them quite often and have never had a problem with sticking or locking as some others have and from being on the otherside where we are getting cuffed i am thankful! Plus they are engraved with my name and favorite saying so makes them even more special!
Have three sets of these that date back 30 years of use, never had a problem.
Is there anything else!!!
When doing cuffing drills, i've always felt they were basic, smooth, and easy to use. Don't grab the chain while someone is cuffed though.
i use these all the time and never have any problem with them.
Best cuffs ever made. I have used mine thousands of times and not one Problem.Been using my first pair for 14 years.
Oh Boy Gotta love these Guys here, I thought I lost my Black pairs of Smith & Wesson
Handcuffs, I was to upset the whole day $40.00 bucks , I went and bought a another pair
to forget i lost them. And the next day i recovered the lost pair.2 pairs of black and 2 pair
of silver, i carry my First pair of Smith & Wesson and Lubricate all the Others for the future
Uses.
Awsome Cuffs. Works Really Effectively!
great handcuffs, easily and quickly applied, just hate the double lock on them.
I love them, but hate the double lock on um!
We used to carry these until we received a bulletin advising us that the chain is breakable. Some inmates in a county jail near us had figured it out and it is really quite simple. You don't need to be very strong.
This is the best set of handcuffs I have owned. I used to be a fan of peerless, but ever since there was a safety warning regarding them, I have switched to SW. The seem to be a little more sturdier.
I think back to the basics is where is should be
I like my cuffs they have always did the job never hung up always a thumbs up...
Yes, my old faithful. Thats what I am talking about. These cuffs have outlasted several other brands. Love S&W cuffs, the best of a kind available to LEO's.
Gets the job done nicely. But you have keep it clean and lightly oiled at the hinges. I have the black ones and they tend to want to rust.
I still carry two sets of chain cuffs along with my two sets of hinged. The chain cuffs seem to fit smaller wrists better and, as mentioned earlier, it's better to have 'em and not need 'em than the other way around. (I guess it's just the Boy Scout training...LOL)
Still use my Zip-Ties though, perps can STILL 'Houdini' out of the S&W's. How do they do that?
The first set I bought was chained S&W, and I still have them! Little bit of light machine oil in the pawl and hinge, and no problems. I like them for the people with smaller wrists. The hinged are for the brutes that need a room in the local bed and breakfast.
verygood handcuff. won't double lock if dropped on ground.
I still use the ones handed down by my father. I got new ones to but I feel proud to carry the ones that have been used on countless criminals. Kind of a goodluck charm
My brother passed down his first pair of S&W handcuffs to me when I followed his footsteps into law enforcement, six years later. I carried them to the academy and for about four years on the street. Altogether, they saw about ten years of heavy use before "giving up the ghost". Not bad at all! I still have them, though their days of restraining the wicked are over.
EXTREMELY reliable! I've had the same pair of S&W cuffs for almost 10 years and have never had a problem with them and it's not like they just sit in my cuff case...these get almost every day use! They're still going strong. The teeth have not worn down, the springs are still tight and smooth, easy double locking...I LOVE these!. I also own a pair of hinged S&W restraints and love those almost as much.
I have two sets of these cuffs...One pair I have had since 1986 when I was an MP..The second pair I bought right after I got right out of the academy in 1989...I have not had any problems with them.
Another great product by Smith and Wesson I'm glad my department didn't go to an off brand.
What can I say...when it comes to handcuffs Smith and Wesson is the master- I have pairs that are over 20 years old and still working like they did on day one~! OUTSTANDING~!!!!!
I have three sets that get lots of use and have never failed.
Used to work in a jail and broken up plenty fights and had to restrain plenty inmates...and they never let me down...top shelf!
I never saw anybody having problems using those cuffs. Traditionals, nothing new, but why to change?
Great cuff. I prefer the hinged for larger people but the chain works great on smaller females.
ONLY THE BEST
S & W...A cops favorite piece of jewelry...still have my first pair 14 yoa and still going strong!
These cuffs are ok but if you are trying detain a large wristed subject these sliding double locks are harder to engage than the push pin style double locks.
A constatnt product that is always there when you need it!
reliable and dependable
On par with their firearms..........
Old faithful... I've had me two pair for 24 years and NO PROBLEMS !
I have 2 pairs of S&W cuffs. I have hed them for about 5 or 6 years. I used them when I worked for a security company back then. I was trained to use them Then I carried them when I was a Corrections Officer. I used them as a back up while I was on duty.
I still have them. They are very dependable
There is not a badge Bunnie out there who would say no to these.
Ive tried many types of handcuffs. The problem I always have....nobody ever seems to have a pair when we need them!!! I wish I could find a carry case that was perfect for the plain clothes officer.
Good Ole' standby cuffs over the Chain Handcuffs.
Easy to manipulate for all handcuffing techniques.
The best cuffs at a reasonable price. I started out with Peerless, but am glad I switched. Solid construction, very easy to use and maintain. Smooth action and reliable. I particularly like the easy access to the double lock slot.
HANDCUFFS DONT REALLY VARY THAT MUCH BUT THE LOCATION OF THE DOUBLE LOCK AND THE TYPE OF MEDAL.
The rating speaks for itself !
Love em'. Been using them for years now and have never had any problems. Wouldn't use anything else!!!
I like the hinged cuff's better.
I love these things. They are strong, durable and made to last. Great product !
Girlfriend loves em....wife hates em!!
Key provides minimal gripping surface for oily fingers that are fatigued by heavy petting.
The only cuffs i will use, dosent get much better
OLDIE BUT A GOODIE!! HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN! A MUST HAVE FOR ALL OF US!
Very good handcuffs they work well with no problems can take a beating like a champ
I have several pairs of these cuffs. I love them and would not know what to do without them.
Absolutely reliable. Always carry a pair on me, because you just never know when you might need them. Double locking can be somewhat of a hassle at times. But overall, never have had any problems with these.
I use the 100 model and they are great. I have a nickle and blue pair. I wouldnt use anything but.
Holds up well to all types of weather. easy to lock, double lock, and easy to release.
I have carried S&W chained cuffs for a long time now, they are extremely reliable.
I have carried and used smith & wesson cuffs...In fact they are the only ones, i have ever carried...since 1994...I have several pairs...i carry a pair of the black ones now...
I keep these in my car as back-up cuffs to my ASP. They have lasted forever and are always dependable.
great cuffs
by far not the best cuffs i've ever owned, but would do in a crisis
s&w model 10, big meaty chain cuffs
A great pair a Handcuff's I have been using them sence I became a Police Officer and never had a problem with them.
Great product love using them mike life simple
Dependable, durable.
I have 2pr of these as "backups" great cuffs and always reliable
I use the standard silver cuffs. They work well and have never had a slip up or a break.
The price is right.... reliable, tough, just the all around grunt of the cuff world. I use this for competitions as well as out in the field, and they have worked without any troubles. Maybe it's just me but they also look better as they get thrown around a bit....
I needhand cabs
Can't beat hinged cuffs sorry
My dad gave me his Smith And Wesson Handcuffs when i graduated Police Academy, I keep them with me at all times Would not think of using a different brand
i love them...
Will never use anything else but these cuffs.Classics.
Top of the food chain for handcuffs. My first issued pair of cuffs were the Smith & Wessons and I've stayed with that brand for the following 10 years. Its the only pair I carry. Sturdy, easy to keep clean, always reliable.
good cuffs
some oil once in a while and it works just fine.
Easy to handle.
Reliable and tough, the only brand I use. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Don't require a lengthy break in period.
Not a big fan of the locking device, but they are good cuffs.
Not the most secure of the bunch, but hell, who doesn't have a pair or two?
These are the only cuffs I carry, they haven't let me down yet.
I have carried these cuffs for going on 3 years now and until recently had no problems. I now have one pair that are bent and difficult to use. Unsure if this is a reoccuring problem or something that I did. Overall great cuffs. I still carry two pair of these at all times.
Have carried for nine years, very strong and always ready to serve when needed.
I have used these style cuffs for over 22 years and they have never felled me. I have other style cuffs, but these are the ones I trust.
i carry two of these on my belt. they are very reliable and i haven't run into any problems with them not working.
Hard to beat for the price. I have the newer model that's kind of oval shaped for larger wrists. Positive ratchet action and dependable. Also carry some of those flex cuffs (just big zip ties to me) in a mace holster. Might get me some thumb cuffs though. Bet if you cuff their big toes together...they can't hobble away...LOL
Hard to improve on perfection! Simply the best engineered and manufactured handcuffs ever made.
I give it a 4 out of 5 because I feel that the linked cuffs are easier to work with when you are in a highstressed situation.
Strong! Durable!
Was their when needed, worked every time!
