Description:

The foundation of the 700 action is its unique bolt design. The bolt face, barrel, and receiver surround and support the cartridge head with three overlapping rings of solid steel. The Model 700 receiver is machined from a solid block of ordnance-grade steel, then drilled and tapped for scope mounts. All our standard Model 700 Police rifles have heavy, free-floating 26" barrels crowned at the muzzle for unparalleled accuracy and stability.

An Outstanding long proven and most utilized police sniper weapon of choise,. I own two, one in .308 and the other in .300 Win Mag for when you really need to reach out there and touch someone. Outstanding trigger, I utilized a badger pic mount, I also had badger place a larger bolt handle on mine. Badger provide's you with a very fast turn around not to mention a LE discount.

This rifle is capable of sub-1/4" MOA. To bad the shooter isn't. Love this rifle and trust my career on it. So does my department.

I have fired one of these not only in the military but also in the civilian market. It is a fantastic weapon and a grouping of 1.5 inches at a hundred yards speaks for it self..

What a classic. This is the sniper rifle that all others are judged by. In .308 not too many targets are safe in sight.

This weapon is the absolute best percision rifle I have ever fired. I own a gun store and got 4 of these in to sale to the local PD's. I took their armorer to the range one day with these rifles and fell in love with their accuracy. These rifles, with a cheap scope I keep in my store fired an impressive .3MOA. I couldn't believe it. I did know that they was garranteed to shot no more than 2MOA but this is way short of that. I say that for the money, you can't beat them.

ALTHOUGH I DON'T THIS IN A 308, I HAVE 2 SENDEROS (WHICH IS BASICALLY THE SAME RIFLE ONLY A LONG ACTION). THEY ARE IN 7MM MAG AND 300 ULTRA MAG. BOTH ARE SUPERBLY ACCURATE. THE HEAVINESS OF THESE RIFLES REALLY TAME RECOIL TO THE POINT OF NONEXISTANT. YOU'LL NOT FIND A MORE ACCURATE RIFLE OUT OF THE BOX THAN THE 700.

I have the Remington 700 in The VLS model as a target/recreation rifle. I had it pillared and glass bedded. The barrel free-floated and a slight trigger job. This is the best shooting platform in .308 caliber I have so far had the pleasure to shoulder. Out of the box thought it is still a fine weapon with little recoil because of the weight.

It's a good weapon, but would shot better if you switched to a "john Plaster" stock. I still like the old M-14 better that the bolt action though.

This is one of the best options for police issue sniping/sharpshooting. It is a Mauser 98 knockoff/improvization, and it's essentially a sporting rifle (high power rifle/hunting rifle). The US military uses their own designated version called the M24. This weapon is commonly chambered in .308 Winchester (7.62x51). On the civilian market these rifles are commonly topped with a Leupold Scope. It serves as an excellent Hunting rifle and when chambered in .223 (5.56x45mm) it's ideal for varmits, like foxes and coyote. You can get one chambered for the animal in mind. If I had to use one, I'd go for performance and sacrifice it's wieldiness, I'd go with 20-26" Bull Barrel (bbl) topped with either a powerful Leupold or something like a Zeiss or Steiner, and I'd consider having it chambered for .308 win, 7mm Remington Mag, or go the way of Wittman and use 6mm Remington. Oh, and a bipod would have to be a must.

Beautiful shooting gun. Endless modifications available to tailor to ones taste. Check out the M-24 SWS A2 upgrade. Just a dependable, easy to become familiar with and deadly accurate machine. Watch the throat erosion though. Mine was just sent out for a new barrel. I'm guessing it has something to to with the endless amts. of ammo that have been shot through it.

The last sniper school that I went to had 24 students. 20 out of 24 were using the Remington 700P. That should tell you something... I have the 700P LTR (20" barrel) which I prefer over full size version. I have been using the these rifles for many years, they are hard to beat !

This is a real fine weapon out of the box. The weapon is well rounded and put together great. The only problem id that they are mass produced. I would have the trigger cleaned and the bolt polished. Whit this work done and the use of the right lubricant you have one fine weapon.

Simple function and as accurate as your shooting ability can make it. It's rugged and will never fail you. The only thing you need to be worried about being ginger with is the optics. What more do you need? I'm currently a sniper on my tactical so me and my 700 have gotten to know each other very well. It's an excellent weapon...tried and true.

The 700P is a great rifle for the armed professional--from beginning to advanced shooters. Out of the box my .308 Win. rifle easily shot 3/4 MOA with match grade ammo. I bedded mine with Marine-Tex, took the trigger down a bit, and hand lapped the barrel with JB Borebright...shrunk the groups to sub 1/2 MOA. The great thing is that there are numerous gunsmiths that know how to accurize the 700 action that many custom rifles on the 1000 yard line are based on the 700 action. The USMC and US Army base their primary sniper weapon system on the Rem 700 for a good reason...it's accurate, it's reliable and it's relatively easy to maintain.

I have one of these with a 4x12x50 rangefinding scope and a Bi-pod. The gun is chambered in 270WSM. I really enjoy shooting this weapon and hunting deer with it. It is a very reliable weapon- fast to reload and a smooth action. My weapon looks identical to the one in the picture so it immediately caught my eye.
