Overall great patrol vehicle. Acceleration and top end better than my '05, but the braking system feels entirely different. Much more drift and "float" when on the brakes hard from higher speeds.

I have this same unit but not as a Sheriff but I am very happy with it because I am a tall man i am 6 foot 4 in and i fit and feel comfortable in here i can get in and out without a problem so I am giving this car the 5 star treatment and THANK YOU FORD

Like old faithful. Others keep trying to conquerer but just cannot make it. However, the Dodge Charger may just have what it takes to overcome the Crown Vic. Still love the Crown Vic, no matter what.

The '06 has much better handling and steering input/response than the previous Crown Vics I've driven. I don't care much for the locking system - if you bail out quickly, the doors will stay unlocked if the keys are still in the ignition. They may have an upgrade or fix for that, but our agency has not researched it.

It does handle better than the older ones but it just doesn't have that 'ump' when taking off like my '99 did. >>>Liable<<< Has your agency looked at the gear shift lockout that's hidden in the floor like the old dimmer switch? We tried a couple and if you don't push it when trying to come out of park, the car won't move.

The crown vic is a good police car, however, I believe that the Charger is going to become the next crown vic in the police industry. I had no complaints when I was driving one.

All I need is one of these and I'll be good to go!

The Police Interceptor makes an exellent police cruiser. It has great handling and has a lot of room for equipment.

well....i didnt like it at first...but the old dog grows on ya. for all the hell we put it through it holds up pretty well. the 06/07s handle a lot better then the 05s...and they got a little more power. but i think thats the worst feature...the car needs at least 300HP. i cant ever catch a damn car from a stand-still thats going over 100MPH. in the area where i work. i imagine the dodge charger could!

Can't beat these cars, not at all! When i was with the Sheriff's Office, the car I drove had 140,000 miles on it. My partner's car had 197,000 miles when I last saw the odometer! Still going STRONG and running great. THat's no lie.

At the Airport I drive a 2003 CV. Love it to death!

Charger's okay, but not made for police work. It's fast but has little else going for it. No trunk space, no back seat room. Terrible visibility.

99 ford crown vic. I bought one used as a POV, with 111.000 miles on it. It must have been made on a Tuesday cause this thing goes like it is brand new. I have video.

I own a 99 model, and I love it. It only had 92,000 miles on it when I bought it and would have to say it is great car.

The 2006 and later CVPI sucks. There's a loss of nearly 4" in the passenger compartment from the previous model years so for a bigger individual you get wedged in without leg and arm room. The anti-lock brakes chatter too much during hard breaking and the wheels will fight you for control when you brake into a turn. I had a 2000 model that I drove for six years before this and it was a great car. But this model year stinks. Best car ever in my opinion was the old box style (1990) Caprice Classic.

I like the crown vic because of the size and styling. Makes a good rolling office. I don't like the performance of the 2006 as much as my old 2001 model. Not as much low end accelleration and it doesn't hold the road as well as the 2001 during high speed curves on highways. Other than those complaint I think it is a great police vehicle.

great vehicle responds well to my needs and if driven right can out perform some sports cars. it continues to be the work horse for L.E.

i like them BUT whats the deal with the wal mart hub caps?

The 2006 model I drive has had all kinds of odds and ends going out just after the warranty expired which was much shorter then the previous and newer models. And give a guy some heads up if your going to go back to one piece hub caps, if 2005's have center caps and 2006's look like they have center caps guess what, they're going to have gauge marks from trying to remove them like center caps.

The perfect vehicle for the road patrol officer. It has power to spare and is roomy enough to function a a mobile office without sacrificing comfort.

Large enough to carry all my equipment, yet comforatble for a 6'3" large guy. I have driven a Crown Vic of various year models for years, and had to drive numerous other units. The Crown Vic is by far my favorite for all patrol applications.

I don't know if is just the vehicle, or if was a lemon, but I don't think it has the power that the 2004 model that I am currently driving. Our Department has had to change the front end twice, and the car is an overall POS!

Has plenty of room for just about anything I need to put in the storage areas or in the passenger compartment.

Handles well at high speed. Low speed is fairly good. Transmission shutters after 30,000 miles. Front suspension squeaks. Haas plenty of room and last longer than any competitors' government contract vehicles.

Great vehicle handles good very roomy for sum of us big guys.....

I'll tell you boys one thing, The v6 chargers aren't as fast as my 05 Crown vick.We got three in this year and we took them out and lined them up.My 05 put a ass whooping on the charger as well as the 07 crown Vick put on me.That is in a 1 1/2 mile stretch.(charger) 124mph --(05 crown) 138mph ---(07 crown) 134mph in a mile and a half stretch.I could pass the 07 until it hit 134mph it always stayed a half of a car link ahead

My 06 is the oldest in our fleet besides our K-9 Jeep Cherokee. This car has 75000 miles on it, and takes a lot of abuse. I have never had a problem catching violators in this car. It handles well, gets up off the line and goes. Not too bad on gas either.

Good car, never let me down.

Good, solid shop. Hated Fords until the '98 CVPIs came out. Stil the miss the 'Shamu' Impalas, though. I've always been a Chevy man.
