This is a great impact weapon that can really reach out and touch someone when you need to. All the years I carried an ASP baton I used it 6 times. 1 rottweiler mix that was gonna get shot or get hit (1 strike upside the head during an full out attack on me was quite effective) Five human type creatures, 4 of those were closed strikes. Very effective close end weapon when space is at a premium.

26" gives plenty of reach and combined with the airweight model is an awsome tool. If properly trained (i recomend going through at least the advanced training class and the instructor if you can) can be used very effectively in a variety of situation extended as well as closed

i actually used to look down on these, it was small and the pr24 is just so much more intimadating, but the reaction you get.. just the noise it makes lol it will definatley leave a real nice bruise though and dont play with it inside im 6'7 and found out the hard way lol

Like the other poster I to am 6'7" and needed an impact weapon that was useful. Some of my friends use a 16" for tight spaces, but I prefer the 26" for reach.

The 26" is very effective and I carry it on regular patrol. I have had a few problems with the grip rolling, but that was easily fixed with the replacement grip. I do however prefer the 16", it is easily concealed and can be maneuvered very well. There are several baton companies out there but ASP has made a strong name for there selves.

Love the way it opens and it's easier to get out of the holster than trying to pull your standard baton from it's ring. I like the new caps that you can personalize it.

This baton is quick on the draw and easy to carry. It's compact size and non-threatening carry makes it a favorite among law enforcement officers today. Only draw back is that after a couple of strikes it colapses so you have to re-extend it again to stay in the fight.

I have aready post a review on this product. However, after seeing it posted several times I think I need to re-post. This product is CRAP. I had one and used it several times. Left nice marks/welts on skin but no effect on stopping the fight. Mine collapsed to many times during fights. Partners bent shafts. All the weight is in the handle making the need to sing very hard. I swapped mine for the RCB ( Rapid Containment Baton) by peace keeper products. The RCB is machined better for less chance of collapsing. Larger striking surface, and the weight is not in the handle. Used mine 3 times now and it has been 10x's more effective. just imagine the Asp results times at least 10 (in my opinion 100x's). dump ASP, ASAP!

Being compact, it's easier both to carry, and to get in and out of vehicles. Wooden batons always ended up being tossed in the seat, although some cops do the same with expand-ables. My only concern is the durability, and whether it holds up under parried blows as well as swinging it full-force. Collapsing it is seems sort of clumsy also (slamming the button into the ground). Nontheless, it is being used almost exclusively today, so my concerns are not all-conclusive.

It's better than the PR24 by a long shot. I've only used mine twice (both times to break automobile windows). The last time I used it, it broke before the window did. The side break scabbard is good for about two years and then you start losing the baton due to the stretching.

They are compact and easy to carry, but just like others have said they do bend and then you have a hard time getting them to collapse again. I put mine away and went back to the old wooden stick.
