When looking for a patrol carbine I considered many factors. Of course price and quality being the biggest factors to look at, but I also had to think about the fact that I am a southpaw shooter. There are of course a plethora of AR-15 variants. I first considered the DPMS because it is possible to order an M-4 type weapon from them with left handed accessories already installed. I didn't really want to have to place an order for what I wanted and when I found that the Stag (which several dealers in my area were already stocking) came factory ready as a true left hand weapon. Ejection port and forward assist are both on the left side, ambidextrous selector switch and mag release made this the only true southpaw I could find. The quality in my opinion was comparable to the other major brands also.

I have a Stag 2TL - its a great rifle, shoots wonderful, is a joy to use. No more distractions with brass flying across your vision.
I took a rifle class at Front Sight in Nevada and was shooting 1 inch groups at 200 yards no problem. I can't say enough good things.

I have a Stag 2-TL with A.R.M.S. 40 rear and Samson front flip sights and I'm very pleased with it so far. However, I did have a problem the first time I took it to the range. I couldn't seem to to get it to zero. It mantained 1.25" and under groups at 50 and 100 meters. The problem was they were 3" low and I had no more adjustment on the front post(the rear flip sights are only adjustable for windage). I contacted Stag and they told me to send it back on their dime and they would take care of it. I got it back 2 weeks later with a note that stated the upper rail was out of spec. and that they replaced the complete upper. I took it to the range and it was driving tacks! I'm very happy with the rifle and the customer service was excellent. I am planning on buying a 6.8 upper in the future and It"ll be a Stag! The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score was the fact that I did have to send it back. My only suggestion to Stag would be to tighten up on their quality control. All in all it's a great rifle and they give a 10% discount to LEO's, so their already low price gets even better!

I actually have the 3-L model in left hand. I purchased it mostly due to the fact that it was left handed but I went out the other day and ripped a hundred so rounds through it and had no regrets. I have a bushnell trophy sight T sight on it and paid about 900 for it. I could not ask for anything better.

Don't really have any complaints, except for the PD won't give me a bunch of ammo to go and have fun. Love to shoot one of my investments without malfunctions.

I purchased the Stag Arms Model 2HT-L (free floating rails / flip up rear sight) last month. This is the left hand shooter version (I am cross-eye dominate / pistol with right hand, rifle/shotgun with left hand). This is a great shooting rifle and extremely well built. I purchased this rifle to carry on patrol. It was a great investment. I highly recommend this rifle to those that are shopping around.

I purchased this rifle for patrol, and have fallen in love with it since the moment I picked it up. I have equipped mine with a carrying handle and an ACOG 2x24 yellow dot optics with a see thru mount to keep the iron sights available. A tac sling and light have completed it, and the first time I was on the range with it, the rest of the department wanted one! I would only change one thing; the charging handle retention clip is still right handed, and it is a tight fit with the forward assist, but it is a great shooter! I will most likely purchase another.
