| Description: | In extreme close quarters encounters where a suspect is attempting to take an officer's handgun, or an officer cannot access his handgun, the TDI knife is available as a "last option" knife. When worn on the pant belt the entire unit - knife and sheath - is well concealed. Designed by John Benner, founder and owner of Tactical Defense Institute. |
I have carried this knife on and off for about 3 years. It goes on your inner belt and under your duty belt on your support side. Small enough you cant tell that its there. The holster has a slight retention also. Knife holds a great edge. Hopefully never have to use it for its intended purpose but nice to know its there if you need it.
I carried this knife for two years while in the patrol bureau. I loved it. No one even noticed it on my belt. I (thankfully) never had to use it for it's intended purpose, but by holding the knife you can tell it is well made and would withstand quite a bit of punishment.
My husband has this and I am relieved he does. I (like him) am thankful he has not had to use to, however better to have it and not use it then not have it & need it.
Great knife, easy to conceal.
Just the right size for a "crisis" edged weapon on my kit...great edge, great feel
A great tool to keep on your belt. Hides easily behind your radio or other equipment and is easily unsheathed to ward off any attackers that might be trying to disarm an officer. If you get ambushed, this is a great tool to counter that ambush.
Awesome knife. I recommend the smaller version, as the large version tends to sit on the hip bone uncomfortably while seated in a vehicle.
This is a very well made knife. Very heavy blade will hold its edge through a lot of punishment. I have carried this knife for about 8 months and I love it.
They also make a training knife just like this one. Train, train, train....to ingrain
Good knife, I carry this one mostly in colder weather when I wear two shirts. Ka-Bar now makes a metal clip that attaches to the sheath for more carry option. Overall, good knife.
great for cqb
AWSOME
Great knife, great feel, lightweight, and easily accessed without most people realizing you are carrying it.
Love the knife. I found it is easier for me to attach it with zip ties to my magazine pouch so I do not have to change it out when I switch uniforms.
great product, affordable, hold a nice edge even after being sharpened, great for weak side carry/cross draw cutting. light enough to carry at all times.
THIS KNIFE IS AWESOME. ITS SMALL AND YOU CAN EASILY ACCESS IT IF YOU EVER NEED IT. AND I CANT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PRICE. JARHEAD TESTED AND APPROVED.
I love this knife and have been carrying it for over two years since it first came out. The greatest thing about it is no one knows its there where I carry it and it is out in the open. I can get to it in a hurry and god help the dirtbag who trys to go for my gun.
Got to have it.
vicious blade
It's small and light weight and can be carried any where on your person unseen. The fixed blade makes for quick and easy use.
Great little knife...easy to conceal...easy to use
Carry this knife behind my mag puch I pray I never need it but but I am happy I have it. Holds a wonderful edge and the holsters retention is just right.
great "last resort" knife. would like it to have a little more retention
I love mine in a sport coat.
Love the knife.. actually carry it on duty.. Would like a more functional holster though.
I have the ankle holster, great for consealment and surprise.
Just recieved this as a gift. Feels good and looks cool!
Great knife for its intended purpose, "life" insurance. I don't use it for daily functions, I keep it to save my life. I will restate rrussell1981's comment, that the sheath has "slight" retention. You need to check it periodically, so u don't find it on your Crown Vic's rocker panel, like I have done in the past. I carry it everyday and for light off duty protection when I cant carry a gun.
Good knife, good value.
i carry this on duty very useful wouldnt go back to my original knife
Great knife, easy to conceal, sheath can be changed according to needs. Highly recommended.
Great knife! Easily concealed, department purchased and recieved the boot version for a gift. Never leave home without it.
great little knife. been carrying the fully serrated for about a year it really fills a need for defense
I have employed the use of the TDI on time since purchasing it nearly two years ago. I was caught off guard and the guy who surprised me from behind nearly pooped his pants when I had it against his abdomen. This is one of my best tools I have owned in 18 years as a LEO.
Great little knife one of the best L.E. knives on the market.
great in emergency for cutting belts
looks cool....
Looks good, but is it ok to use with minor utility tasks?
Love it. However I only use it as back-up to my folding knife.
Great last resort. I wear it with my dutybult and would not go to work without it.
great knife... very sharp... i take it to work everyday
I'll give it three stars on what I hear from LEOs who love it. I do like the fit in my hand, but I'm not sold yet. Not really my style of knife.
Great Knife!
ya way to sharp i just cut my self with this knife and had to see a dr.
kabar has always made quality knives. this one is no exception
Great knife for under your duty belt! They also offer a boot knife version!
I hope I never have to use it but its great to carry and easy to hide, nice and light
Great knife, carry one on my belt and one on my ankle. I prefer the straight blade tanto, but it is a little big for some to carry.
Great blade. I carry it as a backup on the ankle rig.
I love this thing, it is my back up weapon
This is a great tactical knife. And you can conceal it pretty much any where. My only problem with the knife is the rivets on the shieth. I have seen alot of them give out.
dont have one but seems like a good knife
I cary this knife on duty on an ankel rig and it is great. I can get to it fast and with either hand. Once in han it feels like an extention of your hand. God forbid I ever have to use it on someone but I feel more confident knowing it's there.
Great knife for a great price.
