Description:

Compact (pocket sized), high-intensity incandescent flashlight for tactical, self-defense, and general use. Light output may be nearly doubled with optional P61 lamp. Small size and high output make it an excellent everyday-carry light. FEATURES: -Rugged aerospace-grade aluminum body, Type II anodized in glossy black -O-ring sealed, weatherproof -Tempered Pyrex® window -Tailcap switch: press for momentary-on, twist for constant-on -Switch lockout prevents accidental activation during transport or storage

This flashlight is very small (without being too small), very light, very bright (65-120 lumens), and super tough! If you're looking for a light to put on your already crowded belt--look no further.

Initially, the activation switch took a little getting used to (I had been using the Streamlight Stinger, which is also a good light, but much bigger) but now I love it! The twist-cap activation allows you to set how much pressure is needed to activate the light, and when you don’t want it to activate—it features a lock out function so that it cannot be activate.

The ONLY downside is that it is not rechargeable, but I have been using this light for my patrol duties for over six months now, and I haven't had to change the batteries yet—and I do use it a fair bit. You can purchase a conversion kit, if you absolutely must have a rechargeable flashlight, but it does add a little bit to the overall length.

Like I said--I've used several other lights: Streamlight Strion, Streamlight Stinger, MagLites, and Innova, and all of those are good products--but this one is by far my favorite. I have this one on my duty-belt, and purchased the polymer equivalent--the SureFire G2 for my personal use. I am also getting ready to purchase a 9P ($79, longer version of the 6P with 105-200 lumens output) to put in my duty bag and a G3 ($59, same as 9P but polymer) for personal use.

When showing this light to my superior officer, he pointed out that it doesn’t make much of a “last ditch” weapon—which is true, however, there is also a 6PD (D for “Defender”), which comes with a “crenellated Strike Bezel™” for “enhanced self-defense capabilities”.

I would actually go with the 6Pd with the crenelated bezel. Its a great light, small enough for a pocket but bright enough to be used as a backup or even stand alone self defense tool.

Kickin little light. I have two, one for my duty belt, one for my unmarked vehicle. You can't have too many of these. The great thing about this thing is it's always on your belt instead of laying in your car or in the charger.

Great flashlight...I own two of them. The only flaw I found was that it went through batteries extremely fast and became costly to operate as a regular patrol flashlight...made more for special services.

This is an awesome, bright light. I agree with some of the reviews about having the D model self defense bezel. You can purchase a recharger attachment for it on the Sure Fire web site. I carry this as my back up to my trusty old Mag light only because my company provides that for us to use as well as the batteries. Rather use theirs up then mine, but when I need light it is right there on my hip in my Sure Fire holster I bought online for $19.

Excellent flashlight, however it uses alot of batteries. The button on the bottom that you use to operate the light is ultra sensitive and will turn on with ease esp when sitting don. Otherwise a good light all around

Great flashlight. Very bright, however battery life is short. Best to keep a spare set of batteries nearby (which aren't cheap either). Works well on duty with the holster, also minimizes accidental activation of the sensitive button.

Great flashlight!! I have had one for years when they first came out. It has served me served me welll. During a Gang Operation I took it out of my Tactical Vest and found that the light had be deployed for a period of time. It got so hot that it created a bubble in the lens, but the light still work. Soon after that I visited with a Sales Rep from Surfire at the ILEETA Conference when it was in Albuquerque. He told me to call Surfire and they would sent me a replacement bezel. A year went by and nothing came in the mail. A year later I called Surfire again and the new bezel arrived in week. It fit my 6P perfectly and was the newer verison so I was happy!! Battery life is short though.

This is one of the many Surefire lights I have and love all of them. The light is dependable but if you are using the high output bulb don't expect long battery life.

I carry this light in my duty bag just in case my other flashlight starts dying while in the field. I am impressed with the durability and amount of light this puts off for the size. Great tactical light for entries etc.

One of the brightest lights on the market (especially if you buy the upgraded bulb from 60 lumens to 120 lumens). The tail cap button is excellent for tactical use (as well as preserving the battery life) but that’s just the problem the "battery life" is only an hour long (upgraded bulb is only 30min) and the batteries are too expensive to keep buying at that level of wear. They should have made this rechargeable.

I LOVE THIS LIGHT! I've owned one, sadly I had let it go a few years ago when I was in a different field, but I will definitely pick up another one as soon as I can. One recommendation: If you are concerned with the lack of time allowed for use, I would suggest switching to the LED head, it increases the life of the 3volt lithium batteris to almost 100 hours instead of the 60 minutes of use you get with the standard bulb.

A great light. The primary beam is painfully bright if you're on the business end of the light, and the secondary beam around the pre-focused beam fills an entire pitch-black room with light. A downside is that it rapidly goes through expensive 123A Lithium batteries, with a cost of $4 per hour to operate.

This is a good flashlight. I have had two of them for about 15 years and they have not let me down. Very bright, and durable. Use them in the salt water, and now on land. Never any problems. Took me a while, but found out to buy the batteries from surefire instead of a drugstore. MUCH CHEAPER!
