| Description: | The Ruger Mini-14, Ranch rifle, and Mini Thirty offer inherent accuracy, light weight, low recoil, and a quick repeat shot capability that makes them the favorite of ranchers and outdoors men. Constructed of relatively few components ,all three of these proven rifles provide the convenience of an autoloader without the complexities often associated with this type of firearm. |
I have never had any problems with mine and aftermarket parts such as fold over stocks, high capacity magazines and optics are readily available for this rifle. Being reliable accurate and versatile makes it one of my top choices.
i love outdoors and its a perfect rifle for just about anything
Awesome gun, I think any one with children that want to move them up from.22 should invest in this product, Easy to use, Fun and relativley cheap!!
This rifle was probably one of the first police rifles. It is very accurate and fun to plink shoot with.
With the Mini 14 in .223 using Federal ballistic tip Nosler partition bullets, killed 9 deer and one coyote with one shot each at ranges from 25 to 150 yards in weather conditions ranging from cold, rain, hot, dry. No malfunctions.
What else can you say?
I have to say not impressed with this rifle at all. I do own one and I keep it on my mule in the country. Not a comfortable gun to shoot also likes to jam and a pain to clear the jam.
Darn good rifle for close and medium combat.
I agree onegood. Mine sits in the trunk of my car waiting for action. One pull of the handle and we're ready to go!
I carried one for a short while until it was recalled. It was so-so. I do like the mini 30 which is the same gun in 7.62x39.
2 words, FUN FUN
Great rifle, Great round. Accessories are a little more pricey than those for the AR family. Very reliable.
I am 31 years old I have had one of these since i was 14 years old and it has never let me down it is a little picky on the types of rds youuse but it will take 70 to 80 grain bullits with no problems.
This was my first tactical rifle with a tactical stock. The Ranch rifle was an excellent shooter and is a great deal for the price.
I own one of the newer models made after the retooling at the factoy. Mine is stainless steel with a leupold 3 y 9 scope, let me tell you thi weapon is one of my favorites to shoot. Ihave yet to see any malfunctions. I also love it's simmilarities to the M-14. I carried it's older, and bigger, sbling for several years in the Navy and had the same felings about it too. This weapon is accurate too, coyote's passed two hundred yard are no problem, and mine seems to digest any thing I feed it, but some don't group to well.
I wish this was my patrol rifle. It's a little heavier but the 30cal. model is far superior
Not a bad little rifle. This is our department issue rifle, and after a while of getting banged around, it can get a little 'loose' but nothing that a good field stripping and tightening can't handle. The .223 is a little unstable with the mini 14 at any distance over 200 meters so I prefer the mini 30 in 7.62x39 but overall, the design is decent. It does not like cheap ammo though. Treat it well, clean it regularly even if you don't fire it, keep it tight, and use good ammunition and you'll have yourself a good lil carbine. Also, if you like to keep rounds in the mag, DON'T keep it loaded to capacity cuz any lack of spring tension will cause a failure to feed. Keep 20 rounds in a 30 round mag, 15 in a 20 round, and so on and so forth.
Great gun for varmits and fun to shot. My ranch version is great with optics.
Fun rifle to shoot. I have a holo sight on mine and it puts hole on top of hole. Only problems are with cheapo mags- won't pick up next round (mag problem, not gun). Less expensive alternative to the AR type.
This is my 1st year using one. When at the range I had no problems at all, glad to have this weapon in my truck. We're just waiting for action.
I've tech'd mine up. Synthetic Stock, Flash Supressor, Hand Grip. Never had a problem with it. Great gun.
Good, accurate and dependable weapon for the price.
Very dependable. Its a well constructed, and great for outdoors.
Easy to shoot and no recoil. This weapon will take a beating and shoot straight everytime.
This looks amazingly similiar to my remmington airmaster77 .177 cal
I have two for personal use...Love it,one was a hand me down that has an estimated 13,000 rounds down range....still kicking along, I have one that I bought last year that the barrel cracked on...sent it to Ruger in AZ they replaced the rifle at no charge and had the new rifle ready to be picked up at the dealer in seven days. Ruger service is awesome the products are strong!
Currently going through a Rangemaster course, Mini 14, in my opinion, is very reliable, dependable and durable.
I have had my Mini 14 Stainless for several years now. No malfunctions whatsoever, Durable & accurate. Fun to shoot.
Excellent rifle. I have a new Mini 14 blued, no problems yet, Is a great less expensive alternative to the AR type rifles. Plan to pass it on to my son someday when he is big enough to handle it.
The Mini-14 is an OK and accurate gun if you take care of it. The Stainless version is better. I would use it for sport or plinking but I much preffer my Armalite M-15 for duty use. The Mini got it's reputation because of the TV Series "The A-Team. "Listen Up Fool"
I hear tell that they are fine weapons, I have even shot a couple in my career, but I think I prefer my Stag Arms M-4. The breakdown and accessories are just easier for me to use and acquire.
GREAT GUN. Fun to shoot.
A great little rifle...I have owned one for years...
If you're getting accuracy past 80 yards, you're lucky. If you can get it to run reliably, you're lucky. If you can keep from knocking off the sights, you're lucky. If you can find reliable, non-leo (don't be that guy!), regular capacity mags for less than $35.00, don't use them! If you're getting all of the above, you are either lying or you haven't shot it enough to know what it will do, when you really need it to run. If you have shot a considerable amount of rounds through it (a few thousand), start considering replacing the barrel..... cause it has about run its course. Run it in a 1000 to 1300 round rifle class over 12 hours and see what happens with it. Fight with it like you are fighting for your life and then come back and edit your great comments. This gun is junk for life-dependent work. Though the new model looks to have somewhat fixed a few of these flaws.
very good rifle. easy to carry and accurate
fun to shoot. accurate. just not enough time with one to fully trust it yet.
Was issued a Mini 14 when I started at my current department and was not impressed at first, but it has grown on me. I have found it easy to use and accurate. In the end, it does its job well and gets the rounds downrange when you squeeze the trigger.
EXCELLENT RIFLE EASY TO MOVE WITH AND IS VERY DEPENDABLE-GREAT FOR GETTING YOUR ATTENTION
Our department carries this rifle and I was trained with it in the academy. I found it very easy to use and very accurate.
Best gun of its class. Very accurate, reliable and will take a beating. In my mind, its second only to the AR.
No issues with this weapon. Carried one in my cruiser starting in 1978 and never had any problems with it ever. Still no problems.
fun gun alot of aftermarket parts
