This book was just great. It is the type of book you can not put down until your done. The TV show Homicide, Life on the street was one of the best cop shows ever.

Great book! I did a ride-along with the detectives written about in this book. They are truly my heroes. I remained a friend of Det. Donald Waltemeyer and we lost contact for a few years. I've since learned that he died of cancer. I have my hard-back edition autographed by Mr. Simon and the "characters" he wrote about. I will never part with it! BLH

Excellent book. I just finished it a few days ago. Not really a feel good story, but certainly realistic. Spawned a great TV show as well.
