Good all around duty shotgun, short on frills but gets the job done. Patterns well, no problem with a variety of less lethal rounds. Cleaning can be a pain but other than that a good deal
For the price I was hoping something better.
Great shotgun I have an 18in. Vang Comp barrel with a short stock.
Heavy duty well made shotgun. My friends use this weapon in Iraq and love it. I have used it in tactical courses and have not had a single problem.
I love my 590SP. I would put it up against the Remington 870 any day. Don't get me wrong the 870 is a great shotgun and does a great job, I own one.
I own a Mossberg 590 Special Purpose Shotgun with a pistol grip Knoxx Industries recoil reducing stock and I put a front night sight on mine. For the feel, reliability, and round capacity, I do not see a better shotgun out there.
good shooting weapon...i do feel very comfortable carrying on of these into a 590's into a bad situation
Our dept carries the 16" version.......its a great weapon
My bed buddy, with side saddle and speed feed stock added, makes such a beautiful sound! Great weapon!!
Love this gun, my father purchased it me as a graduation gift from the Police Academy. I love where the action release is and the safety, much more practical than the Remington. Shoots straight and true
My unit in the Corps tested the 590s, I love the gun the safty is in a much better place than on the 870 and the weapon is durable I've got a short barreled one also
ok shotgun, but I'd prefer the Benelli!
A well built and yet cost effective weapon. Transition from a Remington and the safety placement presents a problem in the short term but seems better placed on the Mossberg after you are used to it. Had mine ported with 4 rows of 5 1/8" ports 2 rows at the 1030 and 2 rows at the 130 position. With the longer barrel and the ports it shoots great patterns and handles well. I did have to get a youth stock which made it even easier to handle. Not to mention kept me from short stroking it.
My has the Marine Cote to keep it from rusting and it looks great because it looks stainless
Great shotgun. Mine is 8+1 and is stainless (MarineCote). I just need to put some ghostring sights on it and it will be much better.
