| Description: | 21" collapsing baton. "Revolutionary cam and ball bearing action. Once opened, these batons stay locked until you are ready to collaspe them by pushing a single button." Urethane safety tip. |
Nice grip, long reach, balanced, and packs a punch. Push button retract is a nice feature. No more getting down on one knee and smacking the tip off of the ground to retract. Shop around, I paid $79.00 at a local uniform store. I've seen them as low as $58.00 online.
I'm a definite fan... the push button feature is very nice. After spending 6 months in the academy beating my old Asp into the ground, I went and bought one of these. I also got the Hindi endcap which makes it easier to hold on to and will keep it from rolling away if you need to drop it.
I had one of these and it was great for a long time until one night on the street chasing a suspect. as I came around the corner and expanded the baton the top end came out and went flying down the street bouncing off a car door.
I liked the monadnock however I found out that being certified with asp and carrying this one
was a no no if you have to use it to control someone.
My agency has used this product for about 7 years now. The biggest problem we have is that every baton, ultimately at some point in time, has failed to lock open. Granted, some of these occurances are due to user error. BUT, when our (Monadnock certified) instructors can only get a 3 out 5 success rate, something is wrong. Manadnock has always been good about replacing the offending batons but I feel that the product should perform to specs for a longer period of time than what it has for us. Just my opinion. BTW some batons are cared for better than others however they all (In my Agency) seem to eventually have the locking problem.
I have carried Autolock Batons before and have never had any problems with them.
My agency requires Monadnock batons and I have never had a problem out of mine. I like the button in the end to close it, sure beats having to bang it on the ground to get it to close.
This was company issued and what I was trained on so I'm partial to it. Wish that I could carry it for civilian use! Miss my little black baton :( I preferred the one with the ribbed rubber handle over the "soft" handle. I felt like it was more durable and gave a better grip.
great product.
I have had this baton since i was a reserve, i like the ease of openning and closing action of an autolock baton
Good stuff, I've used it for 7 years and broken 1. It is neat and quick to draw. It does what it says on the box. The only question is power tip or no power tip?
great intermediate weapon. The power tip gives it a step ahead of the asp. Could use a new type of finish as mine started with some surface rust
I carry this 26inch version with the power safety tip and the HINDI end cap. I bought my baton and end cap from Ofc Robert Hindi directly while out in Las Vegas. IF you don't have the Hindi end cap, GET IT! You will be impressed.
I have to agree with apco25... I also use the 26" version with power safety tip. I purchased the optional Hindi cap from Robert Hindi (Las Vegas PD) also. Couldn't imagine not having it on there. After speaking with Officer Hindi, I also STRONGLY recommend getting the foam grip version, rather the the rubber Super Grip. The rubber grip tends to bind in the baton holder and could cause you precious seconds.
Great product, push button collapse is a major plus. Opens quickly when needed. Added a nice big handle with a CPD logo as well, great addition to an already great baton.
Excellent baton. Has not failed me once and love the push button release on it. Kind of pricy but I highly recommend it to everyone!
Very good baton. Good, comfortable grip.
A great improvement from our old collapsibles. Used with the Hindi system.
One of the best batons out there. The autolock button feature is the best thing about this. Im glad my unit issued these out to us.
Gets the job done....
Junk...... the baton with not lock out. Each time I have used the baton it was ineffective. My policy states I shall have it with me on duty. So i keep it in my trunk with the OC. If my hands and a taser can't do the trick get more bodies and use gang-foo.
I like the pushbuton retraction, no beating your baton on the ground to close it.
