I too am a big fan of Speer Gold Dot ammunition. While I wouldn't feel underserved by any of the major ammunition companies personal defense ammo, when I'm spending my money I'm looking for Gold Dot's.

I would have to agree. I have shot over 1000 rounds of this ammo from a Glock 22. I had no problems. The loads seem to be very consistent.

This is a very good ammo, but I dont think that it is the best; however, I do use it most of the time for my service weapon!

The .40 does really well in my Glock, and i've never had a problem there, however, my Springfield 1911 does NOT like this ammo one bit. I checked the tolerances...all fine. Extractor...just fine. Magazines...all fine. I can't seem to find a problem with my weapon so i'm thinking it has to be the round. I'm wondering if there's an over-expansion issue with the casing. Anyway, overall, I like the ammo and i'm not going to knock it one bit. It just doesn't do all that great in my .45.

Our Department has used Gold Dot for quite sometime and never had a problem

I currently carry this ammo in 9mm, and I would have to say it's #1 in my book.

I use this ammo in my personal carry pistol and have never had a problem with it not delivering what it's supposed to.

We have been using this product in my department. We usually shoot 2000-3000 rounds a day. We haven't had really any problems. A few inverted bullets but no high primers or cracked cases. I don't have any knowledge of our ballistics testing. But, a hollow point is a hollow point. Penetration and expansion.

There is absolutely no substitution for this ammo.

They make big holes with great stopping power thats all I need...

I have witnessed the gelatin tests using this ammo versus several other prominant brands. It surpassed all the others and due to this test it us currently our issue duty ammo. I haven't seen anthing that matches it.

The Corpus Christi Police Department issues this ammo for our Glock 22's. We get the low recoil ammo, I've never heard of it before, but it helps with recoil. Nice!

Speer isn't my favorite brand, but it is pretty decent...

I have the .40 S&W Gold dots for duty. Good quality ammo and no problems when fired through my pistol.

I train with what I use and I'm happy to say with speer, the buck gets its bang. The power and accuracy are teh best I've seen in holopoints as of yet. I put enough stock in this company that I make sure to have two boxes of Goldot for each of my pistols.

This ammo is simply awesome, I have all my officers carry this!! This stuff goes through heavy clothing, car doors and windshields. Great ballistics!!!

I get this brand for two of the weapons our guys shoot. 45ACP 230gr and 40S&W 165gr
We use regular velocity and have had good accuracy and no failures when the weapons are properly maintained. Since no malfunctions have occured it is unknown how dirty we could shoot it. Tested them with gelatin against windshield glass and various levels of clothing and since it's bonded together very little seperation if any. There was a little bit of cavity filling with clothing but was very hit or miss so unknown when it would come in.

This is the type of ammo I have been issued for my duty weapon the entire time I have been employed as an LEO. Not once have I had any problems with jams or misfeeds. Would recommend it to anyone else as well.

The Gold dutyDot has performed flawlessly in our duty weapons. They mushroomed to textbook perfection in two shootings involving our department. 230gr. 45acp.

Speer Gold Dot 147GDHP is the best ammo you can feed your pistol. For personal defense (i.e. maximum stopping power) it is the only viable option for a 9mm.

I LOVE THE GOLD DOT AMMO!! IT WORKS GREAT IN MY KIMBER TLE AND MY GLOCK 21. I ALWAYS CARRIED IT IN MY GLOCK 22 AND NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH THE STANDARD PRESSURE OR + P ROUNDS.

Simply the best. Now they make it in a special Gold Dot for police.

Theres no magic bullet out there but this round is kinda close. during the time detroit used this ammo it was effective. Bullet expansion and stopping power worked and it got the job done. couple of incidents with car doors and bumpers but again theres no magic bullet. thank god! detroit is going back to it.

It's our duty ammo. I keep life simple and say, goooooood stuff.

Never had a misfire. Great stopping power.
